Announcement and Call for Papers
Seminar at the Second Regional Conference of the International Telecommunications Society,
New Delhi, India, 13th December, 2015
In order to contextualize and strengthen research capabilities, the Second Regional Conference of the
International Telecommunications Society, New Delhi, 13th-15th December, 2015, India, is happy to
announce a PhD Seminar on 13th December, 2015. Selected participants of the PhD Seminar will be
eligible for a discount in the conference registration fee.
The seminar is being organized by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad- Idea Telecom
Centre of Excellence, India (IITCOE- www.iitcoe.in) and the International Telecommunications Society
(ITS- www.itsworld.org).
The participant should submit research papers based on their PhD thesis. The length of the paper should
be upto 10,000 words.
Not more than eight papers will be selected from the responses to this call. In accordance with the
topics presented by the winning candidates, experts will be chosen to discuss new ideas brought
forward by the researchers. The focus will be on the discussion of ideas presented by the participants,
and less on the mere presentation of papers.
Successful participants will receive a joint certificate from the IIMA Idea Telecom Centre of Excellence
and the International Telecommunications Society (ITS). There will also be a best paper award.
IITCOE is one of the eight Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE - http://www.tcoe.in/) that has been
set up in Public Private Partnership mode with funding support from IDEA Cellular Ltd and the
Department of Telecommunication (DoT), India.
The International Telecommunications Society (ITS) is an association of academics and other
professionals in the information, communications, and technology sectors. Its network of researchers
comprises outstanding scholars in the field of telecommunications research that are well known from
the literature.
