Program
8 week placement over 3 / 4 years
Location - anywhere in Australia
Return to same community
Paired with a mentor and in most cases
a community contact aswell
$500 per week of placement
Travel and accommodation covered, all
organised by ACCRM
Students enrolled in medical program, must
be Australian citizens, permanent residents,
or New Zealand citizens with permanent
residency here

Rural Australian Medical
Undergraduate Scholarship
(RAMUS)
Receive $10,000 /yr of study
Not bonded to work in rural area, but
strongly encouraged
Allocated Rural Doctor mentor
Regular contact with mentor
encouraged and participation in rural
activities at least once / yr
All year groups eligible
Must be Australian citizen or permanent
resident to apply
Have to have lived in defined rural area for
minimum 5 consecutive years and be a
member of rural health club – ARMS!

Either 21 hours of Clinical Experience

No placement required, non bonded
Aims to encourage Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander to complete
health related studies
Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander descent and be able to have this
confirmed if required
Open to multiple health disciplines
Closing date: 14th August
Funded by the Australian College of Nursing in
recognition of Puggy Hunter

Indigenous Peoples Medical
Scholarship
Up to $10,000 /year for each year of uni
No placement required, non bonded
Aims to increase the number of
Indigenous doctors practicing in
Australia
Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander descent and have satisfactory
academic performance
All years can apply
