Advent is a time of watching and waiting. Are you open to the surprising ways God comes to you? Be
attentive to God’s call in the ordinary. (Mark 13:33-37)
We are servants of God, each with his or her own task. We will be judged good stewards if, at His
coming, He finds us ready and conscientiously pursuing the tasks to which we have been called.
Those who practice stewardship see themselves as caretakers of God’s gifts. They are grateful for
what they have received and are eager to share their gifts out of love for God and one another.
Stocks and bonds, especially if appreciated in value over the years, can cost you a lot of capital gains
taxes, but they can also make substantial gifts to our Parish. Consider such a gift in your Will.
