Adventure Leadership Camp
Description: Adventure Leadership Camp strives to develop leadership and
communication skills through hands on activities and outdoor excursions. The goal of the
camp is to increase student confidence in overcoming life challenges, help students learn
how to maximize their strengths, overcome their weaknesses, and teach students how to
be effective leaders - not only in their school, but also in their community.
Registration: Parents can register their students by picking up a registration form from
their student’s school, downloading a registration form online and submitted it to their
school, filling out a registration form online, or by coming to the Community Resource
Office and picking up a registration form.

9-12th Grade Adventure Leadership Camp
Camp Description: Adventure Leadership Camp is a hands-on outdoor adventure and
leadership development experience that will prepare students for their future. Students
will establish leadership and character skills through activities such as canoeing,
camping, a high ropes course, team building, geo-caching, and community service.
Students will be given opportunities to be in leadership positions throughout the camp.
Students will be going to Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch in Steelville for camping
and outdoor activities, they will also be going canoeing on post through the Outdoor
Adventure Center.
Dates and Times: June 2-13th, Mon-Fri, 7:15-1:45 pm
Camping on June 5th with late pick-up June 6th and June 13th. (Times for pickup will be
given out on the first day of camp.)
Location: Waynesville High School
Fees and Payment: Since the 9-12th grade camp is offered for summer school credit
there is no charge for this camp.
Bus Transportation: There will be transportation available. The bus stops will follow
the summer school transportation schedule.
Lunch: The school will provide lunch and snacks will be provided daily. Students will be
served dinner, breakfast and lunch during the camping trip.
Credit: Students must attend a minimum of 60 hours and complete course requirement
in order to receive credit. In order to receive credit, students need to register for
Adventure Leadership Camp as a summer school course at the high school.
Medical Forms and Waivers: Students MUST submit all forms before being able to
participate in any activities. Even though a medical form may be on file with the school
nurse, there has to be a medical form on file in our office during camp. Waivers and
medical form will be emailed out once students are registered.
7/8th Grade Adventure Leadership Camp
Camp Description: Adventure Leadership Camp is a hands-on outdoor adventure and
character development experience that will prepare students for their future. Students will
establish leadership skills through activities such as canoeing, camping, leadership
lessons, a high ropes course, community service, team building, and geo-caching.
Students will be participating in a high ropes course at Extreme Adventure Challenge
Course in Ozark and camping there overnight. They will also canoe on post through the
Outdoor Adventure Center.
Dates and Times: June 16-20th, Noon-7:00pm, Camping June 19th
Location: Waynesville Middle School
Fees and Payment: Fees are based on student’s lunch status. There are scholarships
available upon request. Parents can pay by cash, check or money order at their child’s
school or at the Waynesville Career Center. Checks need to be made out to Waynesville
School District.

Bus Transportation: There will be no transportation for the 7/8th grade camp.
Summer School Class: Students will be excused from summer school classes at noon to
leave for Adventure Leadership Camp. This will not affect their summer school hours
and they can still take a summer school class and receive full credit. We have
collaborated with WMDS to provide this option.
Lunch: Lunch will not be provided. Students will need to eat lunch before coming to
camp. The school will provide lunch to students who are enrolled in a summer school
class. Snacks will be provided daily. Students will receive breakfast, lunch, a snack, and
dinner during the camping trip.

4-6th Grade Adventure Leadership Camp
Camp Description: Adventure Leadership Camp is a hands-on outdoor adventure and
character development experience that will prepare students for their future. Students will
establish leadership skills through activities such as obstacle courses, team building, land
navigation, rock climbing, outdoor skill building, and character lessons. Students will be
going to The ARK, City Park and Camp Arrowhead. At Camp Arrowhead students will
have the chance to do land navigation, climb, and learn outdoor skills.
Dates and Times: July 7-11th, 8:00am-5:00pm. Parent Night and Cookout July 10th.
Location: Freedom Elementary
Fees and Payment: Fees are based on student’s lunch status. There are scholarships
available upon request. Parents can pay by cash, check or money order at their child’s
school or at the Waynesville Career Center. Checks need to be made out to Waynesville
School District.
