Employee Recognition Program
Joe Housenick, Human Resources- A meeting was held to discuss and gather feedback about the
Employee Recognition Program. It was decided to use the draft as the shell as the program. Joe
Housenick will be getting together with the administration to go over the plan and hopefully the
Employee Recognition Program would be put into place as soon as possible.
B.
Newsletter
Jackie Lucas, Alumni- The USAC newsletter is close to being complete for the January edition. The
additions of a staff spotlight was discussed where the newsletter would highlight one staff
member per issue. New hires will also be announced. Topics include an update of convocation,
University Family update, time track system, Veterans Resource Center update, possible athletic
updates, and emergency plan Information regarding public safety.

A.
HR Committee Rep
The HR committee is a subcommittee of the board which meets 3 times a year. Topics include a
review of executive compensation, updates to the committee, discussion about HR work plan, and
departmental goals from a University perspective.

Staff Development
Lunch and Learn
Professional Development Topics
Prioritize a list of topics that the staff as a whole is interested in learning about. Topics ranging
from bystander intervention training, campus safety protocol, staff team building session,
leadership training, technology related session, campus enrollment, employee benefits, athletics,
diversity training, social media networking an d A Session to Meet Our Newly hired Deans.
Personal Development Topics
Health and Wellness, Foreign Language, Art Related Activities, Conflict Resolution, CPR, Creating a
Culture of Gratitude, Green Zone Training, How to Handle Stress
IV.
Other Updates
Joe Housenick, Human Resources- Planning for the next fiscal year, projecting a 12% increase to the health
care plan. This can be discussed in an open Forum to find out what would work best for the University as
a whole.
