ARAB INNOVATION NETWORK EDUCATION FUND 2015-2016
Required Supporting Documents
1.
Application Form: Parts A and B (pages 2 & 3 of this document) , financial need statement,
voluntary work brief, and personal statement.
2.
Curriculum Vitae: Give details of specialised knowledge, technical training or postgraduate work
experience. If any of your work has been published, please give details.
3.
Proof of Citizenship: Submit a photocopy OR PDF of your first page passport details.
4.
Official Transcripts: Provide for universities or colleges you have attended.
5.
Personal Statement/Overview: Provide an overview of your current programme of study,
presenting the work you are currently doing (page 4 of this document). This should include a
personal statement demonstrating what impact your work will or may have on the Arab world and
why this award is important to you.
6.
References: Two references are required. They must be recent, and one should be from your
current supervisor/academic staff.

In the event that an application for a AIN fund is successful, the AIN Education Fund (“AINEF”) may wish to
publicise the award. Fund recipients must agree to have their details released, in accordance with the conditions
outlined below, in order to receive an award.
By submitting an application, I consent to the disclosure of my details for the purposes of generating positive
publicity about the AINEF in the event that my application is successful. I further provide my consent to the
disclosure by the AINEF of my name, university, area of study and photograph.*
The information provided to the AINEF may be displayed on AIN websites, included in newsletters or press
releases prepared by the AIN or the other materials which publicise AIN activities.
* Photographs of applicants will be taken at the interview stage.

Dear Referee,
We greatly appreciate your participation in providing a reference for the student who will shortly be
submitting an application for the Arab Innovation Network Education Fund.
The student applying for the fund should have provided you with:
1. A one-page personal statement and overview of their current research/programme of study
(Page 4 of the AINEF application form);
2. This note (Page 5);
3. A Student Appraisal Form (Page 6).
The AINEF selection committee is a group of individuals with varied backgrounds who volunteer their
time to administer the fund. We rely to a great extent upon the assessments of those who give
references. We trust you find the Student Appraisal Form enclosed with this note suitable for
providing the information we require (such as the length of time and the capacity in which you have
known the applicant) as well as your frank and recent appraisal of the applicant’s academic ability,
personality and qualifications for their proposed programme of study.
Please return the Appraisal Form in the same format as the original (single-sided pages only). If you
wish to send additional material, please use a separate sheet/letterhead to do so.
Please EMAIL the completed form and any additional statements well before the closing date of
November 15th 2015 to: info@arabinnovation.net We will notify the student that their reference has
been submitted. It will be considered as confidential to the committee and will not be shown to the
candidate.
The deadline of 15th November 2015 cannot be extended and incomplete applications (i.e. if a
reference is missing) will not be considered.
