CARDBOARD CAMPOUT – Friday September 18th
Join us for our 6th annual “Cardboard Campout” to raise awareness of homelessness and gather food for the
local food bank. Bring a canned food donation, and some cardboard will be provided. Plan to build a shelter
with your friends and sleep on the lawn north of the clock tower. Meet at 7:00 pm to begin your construction.
Breakfast will be provided on Saturday morning.

THE REBEL 5K
The Rebel 5K has been a tradition during Homecoming week for years! The DSU Student Alumni Association
hosts this event and gives all proceeds got towards DSU Student Scholarships. This year's 5K theme is a Run
Through the Decades...60's, 70's, 80's. We invite you to dress up if you'd like in your best outfit! Prizes will be
given out for best dress! When you check-in you will receive a complementary t-shirt, and a chance to win
prizes. The event will be held on Friday, September 25 at the DSU Hansen Stadium. Check-in begins at
11:00pm and the run begins at Midnight! Entertainment will be provided! Get registered today by clicking the

DSU WOMEN’S SWIMMING INFO
In preparation for its debut season in 2016-17, the Dixie State University women’s swimming program will
host an on-campus informational meeting for current DSU students interested in trying out for the team.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 3 p.m., in Room 115 of the DSU Student Activities Center
(Old Gym). First-year head coach Benjamin Rae and DSU Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Mo
Eckroth will host the meeting and will provide detailed information about the new program, what steps must
be taken to ensure student-athlete eligibility, and answer any questions.

“DEEP WEB”
The Dixie State University Computer Crime Institute presents “Deep Web” a computer crime documentary
about the investigation into Silk Road, Bit Coin, and the politics concerning the Dark Web. We would like to
invite all faculty, staff, and students to this movie night in the Browning Resource Center’s Dunford
Auditorium on September 16 starting at 6:00 PM. Refreshments and a discussion panel will follow.

INFO ON THE UTAH CCONFERENCE ON UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH (UCUR)
The University of Utah will host this academic year's Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research (UCUR)
next February. All DSU students are encouraged to participate in this great event. Over the course of this
semester the Undergraduate Research Office, working with DSU's Undergraduate Research Committee, will be

The Dove Center is providing advocacy for survivors of sexual assault through the Women’s Resource Center.
