Message from Jason:
Greetings Manor Community,
This week we were privileged to have children's author and illustrator Jon Agee delight all of our
students in 3 assemblies this past Wednesday. It was a fun day for all of us. Jon was thrilled to watch
hundreds of young readers and writers enter the multi-purpose room decorated like characters in his
books. Library Anne was spectacular in her organization of the event and in the attention that she
paid to Jon. Thank you Anne for all of your hard work and enthusiasm that you bring on behalf of
all our Manor students! I also want to thank the Manor PTA for supporting this event.
Manor’s YES Theatre Production of Beauty and the Beast Begins Tonight!
Hope you can make it out to support our kids. See attached flier for details.
Manor Celebrity Waiter Night at Iron Springs:
This coming Tuesday, March 11th, please join us at Iron Springs for our Annual YES fundraiser.
Several Manor staff will serve as "Celebrity Waiters" entertaining tables with their charm. It is such a
joy to see how excited your children get when their teacher or principal brings them a plate of
vegetables in a restaurant (that might be wishful thinking with the vegetables). So far the following
teachers have volunteered to "serve": Mrs. Meredith Williams, Ms. Julie Crumrine, Ms. Andrea
Watson, Mrs. Shelley Skelton, and Mrs. Gretchen Mathis. I will be there as well. We all hope to see
you and your children's smiling faces. The fun will start around 5:30 and 15% of the evenings' sales
will be donated to the YES Foundation which provides our children with excellent, creative
programs. Thank you to Anne and Mike, the owners of Iron Springs and Manor parents for their
continued support of our district's children.
Manor Structure Conversation:
As I wrote last week, I have recently asked the school board to provide some clarity on their
priorities regarding the programs at Manor School. The board has agendized a discussion on this at
the next Board of Trustees meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11th at 8:30pm. Yes, the
same night as the Iron Springs night. Perhaps you will join us for dinner and then head over to the
board room. I am hopeful that the next steps will be clear after Tuesday night's meeting.
I also want to thank those of you who provided input in the form of the survey. I have read all of
the comments so far and I thank you for your thoughtfulness. I will be closing the survey next
Monday March 10th. So if you haven't already, please share your thoughts.
