Marketer & Bid Writer – An exciting opportunity for a clever and ambitious individual
to be instrumental in helping a highly respected research consultancy achieve its growth
ambition.
We are: Databuild is a niche consultancy specialising in research and evaluation for government and
the public sector. Mainly operating from the UK, we also have a small but talented team in Australia
who are delivering projects for our rapidly growing local client base. The work we do is wide ranging
but we tend to focus on a few key areas:
1. Resource efficiency – working for clients such as DECC, WRAP, Energy Saving Trust
2. Innovation, Compliance & Enterprise – working for clients such as HMRC, Technology
Strategy Board, BIS
3. Transport & planning – working for clients such as ATLAS & DfT

We are looking for: We have ambitious plans for our business, and we are aiming to double in size
within the next three years. To help us achieve our ambitions, we have created a new role for an
able, hard working Marketer & Bid Writer to support our Research Directors to achieve our business
development strategy.
The role includes: As Marketer & Bid Writer, you will:
1. Manage and write bids. You will write bids (or sections of bids) that are timely, compliant
and successful. You will have exceptional written skills to develop bespoke submissions that
are clear, concise and compelling. With high intellect and demonstrable mental dexterity,
you will confidently respond to opportunities in new and existing client, sector or policy
areas.
2. Undertake insightful market analysis. You will evaluate markets, clients and competitors to
inform our growth strategies. You will have strong commercial acumen coupled with
excellent analytical abilities which you will use to explore and understand market dynamics
and quantify market potential.
3. Stimulate & identify opportunities. A natural rapport builder, you will use your intelligence,
creativity and charm to explore prospects research requirements and help to
stimulate/articulate research needs. You will also use your attention to detail to identify
timely and comprehensive lists of published opportunities for us to respond to.
4. Communications and brand management. You will use communications and brand
management strategies to maintain Databuild’s reputation as a ‘thought leader’. You will
ensure we are seen at the right industry conferences and events networking and delivering
papers and presentations.
You will be: Our Marketer & Bid Writer will have a strong grounding in marketing, and importantly,
be able to demonstrate that you are a strong, capable writer. You will be able to write confidently,
carefully, concisely and clearly and it will be advantageous if you have already used your writing
ability to win public sector contracts. You may have an understanding of market research, and you
may have expertise in one or some of the sectors that we currently operate in.
Regardless, you must be intelligent, quick to learn, determined and hungry. You will have creative
flair, commercial acumen and a penchant for quality. You will work effortlessly with clients,
prospects, Directors and staff developing constructive and productive relationships.

also offer a competitive salary package (£24,000-£30,000) and the assurance that, at Databuild, you
