Dear Parent or Guardian,
As part of your child’s curriculum experience this year, certain aspects of Sex and Drugs Education
will be taught in P.S.H.E.E., Science and R.E. lessons at various stages, and to all year groups
throughout the academic year.
The programmes of study for P.S.H.E.E. have been designed in accordance with the governmental
guidelines issued by the DfE and are appropriate for pupils’ age and maturity.
The Roman Catholic Church’s teaching informs our Sex Education programme in line with the
school policy regarding such matters.
We have adopted the Diocesan’s approved programme “A Journey in Love” for all key stages.
Parents do have the right to withdraw their child from Sex Education lessons and if you wish to
exercise this right, please complete the slip below and return it to your child’s form tutor as soon as
possible.
