Unethical Business Behaviors
Unethical Business Practices can have negative effects on both
business and consumers. Below are some of the activities that could
be considered unethical by businesses:
 Resorting to dishonesty, trickery, or deception.
 Distortion of facts to mislead or confuse.
 Manipulating people emotionally or exploiting their
vulnerabilities.
 Greed to amass excessive profit.
 Creation of false documents to show increased profits.
 Avoiding penalty or compensation for unlawful acts.
The Assignment:
Find specific examples, on the Internet of 2 companies
who have behaved unethically. Be sure your sources
are reliable. Prepare a “report” which consists of two
paragraphs (in your own words DO NOT copy and paste)
for EACH of the two companies describing their
unethical behaviors. Provide a report title. Provide
pictures to help support your statements and to spice
up the report. Also, list your sources on a Works Cited
page.
Below are some possible websites you could go to find
companies that have behaved unethically. You may
need to do your own “Google” searches for additional
companies or more information. This is just a starting
point.
