Serif Changes the Way You Draw Digital Artwork Forever with Launch of DrawPlus X8
Serif (Europe) Ltd. today announced the launch of DrawPlus X8, a powerful, easy-to-use
graphics studio for illustrators and hobbyists looking to create digital art. This is the latest
release in the award-winning Plus range, and promises to improve the creative workflow of its
users, offering a wide range of new and improved tools to produce outstanding vector art,
graphics and animations.
Professional graphic designers, enthusiasts and amateurs wanting to express their creativity in

DrawPlus X8 boasts a whole host of new and improved features to help create stunning logos,
drawings and designs, paintings and sketches. Users will now enjoy a more natural way of
drawing than ever before with B-Splines, as well as a new hairline feature that allows for pin-
point precision when working with intricate designs and lines, and is ideal for outputting to
devices like laser cutters.
Eye-catching logo designs for businesses, clubs or charities are much easier to create with
intuitive QuickShapes and an improved Contour Tool. Repeat patterns for artwork, flowcharts
and diagrams are now much quicker to produce using the new Replicate Tool alongside a
Smart Sizing feature that allows those objects to be resized without disrupting the overall layout.
Users can now accurately fill in shapes, incomplete shapes, or even a collection of lines using
the new Flood Fill tool – perfect for AutoTraced sketches and making life a whole lot easier for
the designer so they can spend more time fine-tuning their artwork.
Technical drawings, sketches and maps are a breeze using DrawPlus X8 too, as users can
easily add preset fills such as hatching or map symbols, or they can create their own custom
pattern fills with the new and intuitive Vector Pattern Fills feature.
User requested features have been taken on board with this new release including native EPS
export for greater compatibility with other design software. There’s also even more options for
professional printing as all the effects used in the program are now exported in CMYK.
Beautiful pictures can be crafted with a massive selection of the most realistic brushes including
charcoal, watercolour and pastel, plus a new range of pen and sponge brush effects that have
been added to this latest version. These brushes are great for blurring, smudging, or
sharpening, healing or erasing elements of a design to add finer details and extra effects to
digital artwork.
Stand-out slideshows that make an impact are available in DrawPlus X8 with the new Rostrum
Slide Show feature. It allows users to add simple but stunning effects, such as pan and zoom to
make smooth transitions between each section. The files can then be exported as a movie or
flash file to share with others.
Photo enhancements can be made right within the software using the powerful PhotoLab studio
which now includes a new Clone tool, plus Vibrancy, Split Tone and Clarity filters to further
enhance photos and create breath-taking imagery.
