Attention Expat Parents: Questions regarding your child’s health?
I am a fully licensed American board certified pediatrician living here in Baku. I
understand that healthcare in Baku is very different from healthcare received back
home. I would like to offer my services to the expat community as an email pediatric
consultant.
This service is free of charge. I would be happy to put my extensive training to use
answering questions regarding, but not limited to, the following topics:
current American Academy of Pediatric guidelines regarding common pediatric
diseases, vaccinations, and nutrition
“normal” vs. “abnormal” regarding pediatric growth, behavior, and development
correct pediatric dosage of medications
whether symptoms warrant an initial medical evaluation or further evaluation
elsewhere
second opinions regarding care received
discussion of lab or imaging results
general questions you may have forgotten (or feel a bit too silly) to ask in an
appointment
Please keep in mind that all correspondence is confidential. Also please note that no
amount of email correspondence can replace a full history and physical exam of a patient
in person. If you feel your child is in the midst of a medical emergency please seek
medical attention immediately. I will do my best to answer all questions using the
information provided via email, my medical knowledge, up-to-date medical literature,
and the current medical guidelines practiced in the U.S. .
More about me: I have been living in Baku for about 4 months now. I am currently
trying to get a work permit to work at a local clinic, however the process has been
painfully slow. I received my medical education and subsequent pediatric training at
Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. I have practiced medicine at Texas
Children’s Hospital, Ben Taub County Hospital, and a number of private and county
clinics in Houston. I would be happy to provide a full CV along with references to
anyone interested.
