Whistleblower Protection Policy
APIC #006 Houston Chapter
APIC #006 Houston Chapter is committed to maintaining an organization where members are
free to raise good faith concerns concerning APIC #006 Houston Chapter’s business practices.
Members are encouraged to report suspected violations of law on the part of APIC #006 Houston
Chapter, to identify suspected violations of APIC #006 Houston Chapter’s by-laws and/or
policies, including those contained in this policy, and to provide truthful information in
connection with any official inquiry or investigation.
APIC #006 Houston Chapter will not tolerate retaliation, including harassment, intimidation,
adverse membership actions, or any other form of retaliation, against members who raise good
faith concerns about violations of law, who cooperate in inquiries or investigations, or who
identify suspected violations of APIC #006 Houston Chapter’s by-laws and/or policies. Any
member who engages in retaliation will be subject to discipline, up to and including membership
suspension.
Reports of suspected violations of law or policy and/or reports of retaliation will be investigated
promptly and in a manner intended to protect confidentiality as much as practicable consistent
with a full and fair investigation. Any member of APIC #006 Houston Chapter who has
identified or suspects a violation of chapter law, policy or by-laws should report this violation to
National APIC Member Services at membership@apic.org. Member Services will manage such
investigations and may request the assistance of counsel or other outside parties as deemed
necessary.
What is a Whistleblower?
A “whistleblower” is someone who reports illegal activity or violations of organizational policy.
Whistleblower protection is designed to provide a mechanism for APIC #006 Houston Chapter
members:
 to raise good faith concerns regarding suspected violations of law, questionable conduct
involving APIC #006 Houston Chapter’s assets, or violations of organizational policy
 to facilitate cooperation in any inquiry or investigation by any court, agency, law
enforcement, or other governmental body
 to be protected from retaliation or any threat of retaliation by any other member of APIC
#006 Houston Chapter.
This protection applies to all members of APIC #006 Houston Chapter.
