Before sowing, treat the rhizomes in
fungicidal solution of Indofil M-45 (25
g) and Bavistin (10 g) per 10 litres of
water for one hour. After drying the
treated rhizomes in shade, these should
be sown at a spacing of 30-45cm
between rows and 20 cm within rows.
Top dressing of first dose of nitrogen
(40-50 kg Urea per hectare) in vegetable
crops like cabbage, cauliflower, carrot,
radish, turnip and palak should be done
during this time. Hand weeding if weeds
appearing advised.
Transplanting of tomato, brinjal,
capsicum, chilli and direct sowing of
okra. For the control of fruit borer in
tomato, brinjal and okra, spray 565 ml
Cypermethrin (Ripcord 10 EC) or 225
ml Cypermethrin (Symbush 25 EC) or
750 ml Deltamethrin (Deasis 2.8 EC ) in
750 ml water per ha alongwith the
sticker. Leaf spot and fruit rot diseases
in tomato, brinjal, capsicum and chilli
can be managed with the application of
either Ridomil MZ or Indofil M-45 (2.5
g per litre of water) with sticker keeping
in view the weather contitions.
