Background
Very little is known about the attendees of the degree show. This research is attempting to gather
some market intelligence of who attends and why.

Methodology:
Exit interviews. 2 people at each exit (Evolution House and the Edinburgh College of Art Main
Entrance) – 1 person clicking the people entering and 1 person to recruit people to the online q’re
upon exiting. There will be 4 laptops set up in each exit location. No incentive offered.
The number of interviews would depend on the length of the shift, the q’re and the footfall. If the
survey was 5 minutes in length, the shift was 8 hours and the footfall allowed it we could potentially
administer c.400 interviews per day (6 interviews per hour on each computer, on 8 computers over 2
locations). The cost of each person would be c.£125 a day – so if we have 4 people per day that is
£500 a day across both locations. If we were to conduct this over three days the total cost would be
£1,500
A decision on the frequency of interviewing would depend on budget.
