3. YEAR OF FAITH MASS:






Arrangements are now finalised – Vicky has also produced a booklet which Becky
showed to the meeting
Margaret asked if we should ask for refreshments to be provided after the mass – this
was agreed by members
The event has been advertised extensively in schools and also in parish newsletters –
Becky sent a bulletin to the Deanery which was put on the website and published in
parishes around the area
The Mass will begin at 7pm this Thursday 7th March at St Gregory’s Church in Longton
St Wilfrid’s Primary School sent their apologies for not attending as it is the evening of
their Confirmation Mass
Deborah and Jessica volunteered to ‘usher’ people attending the Mass on Thursday to
their seats and they will hand out the booklets so thank you to them for this
4. WEBSITE:




Steven Giblin attended the meeting in order to ascertain what the members would like
to see on the new website – it was agreed that we should go ahead with the idea
The domain name and web hosting will be purchased and we will be invoiced for the
costs of setting this up and any subsequent additions that we make to the site itself
Members were asked to contribute ideas as to what should be included on the site – so
far ‘events’, ‘meetings’, ‘contact details’, ‘how to join’ and ‘gallery’ were suggested. Also,
links to external sites were suggested – the National CATSC for instance and the
Diocese
The prayer and a brief history of the Association are to be included on the homepage –
Peter will summarise the background of the Association for this purpose


Pictures were suggested – members are unsure as to where historic pictures of masses
and events might be located? The Sentinel and Catholic Today will be asked if they have
any archived photographs we could use on the site
The website was set up on 1st March and is in full working order now – the address is
www.northstaffscatsc.org
5. CATSC FUNDRAISING EVENT:
This is now booked at the Arch Restaurant on 28th April 2013 in the evening. Date and price are
to be confirmed, everyone is welcome! The price is likely to be £20 and there will be a raffle. £5
of the ticket price will go towards CATSC. Thanks to Jess for organising this event, further
details to follow closer to the time. Members are asked to encourage people from their local
schools and churches to attend as it promises to be a very enjoyable evening!
6. AOB:
The Vocations Mass was mentioned and members are reminded that this Mass is to take place
at St Giles’ Church in Cheadle on 13/3/13. The starting time is 7.30pm in a change to prior
arrangements, Gemma reminded us of this alteration. The Painsley MAC (Catholic Academy)
are responsible for organising this event this year and the theme is ‘Christian Parents’.
Margaret mentioned that Jo Boyce will be performing at St Gregory’s Church in Longton on 30th
June 2013. The time is to be confirmed.
