Scholarship Requirements:
1. You must be planning to teach or be currently teaching in gifted education in Oklahoma schools.
2. You must show proof of membership in OAGCT. (Application for membership- www.oagct.org).
Contact the OAGCT membership chair to verify membership.
3. On a separate sheet of paper please explain about how you plan to use your knowledge to further gifted
education in Oklahoma.
4. Verification of your position with an Oklahoma school.
5. Include a copy of the syllabus for the course(s) you will take.
6. If a scholarship is granted, the recipient is required to present a breakout session at the next OAGCT
State Conference, in solo or with others who have received the scholarship in the past year, focusing on
what was gained from the funded coursework.
Process:
1. Application (at www.oagct.org) must be submitted at the beginning of the course semester (within the first
two weeks of class).
2. You will be notified by email when your application has been received. Scholarships will be processed and
evaluated. Candidates will be notified by email if they are granted a scholarship.
3. If you are not in a university program: $300 will be awarded for course(s) in gifted education depending on
the number of applications submitted.
4. If you are in a Master’s or Doctoral program in gifted education (transcript required): $500 will be
awarded for any course(s) depending on number of applications submitted.
5. If approved, at the end of the semester send proof of final grade for course (must be an A or a B).
Scholarship funds will be awarded to you at that time.
