Community Collection: Clothing Drive - ONGOING
Wednesday, December 9, 9am through Friday, December 11, 9am, SLC Lobby
In the spirit of charitable giving, donate new and gently used (not worn-out) clothing to the collection bin in
the SLC Lobby! Donations will go to a local charitable organization. Part of the Eastman Students’ Association’s
Community Service Initiative. Co-sponsored by ResLife.
Mu Phi Epsilon Bake Sale
Friday, December 11, 9am-11am, SLC Lobby
Mu Phi Epsilon will be selling delicious baked goods from Wegmans to raise money for our chapter. Please
come support us and enjoy a tasty breakfast item! Cash only. Prices range from $1 – $2.50. Mu Phi Epsilon is
SA Recognized.
Eastman Americana End of Semester Meeting
Sunday, December 13, 6:30pm, ESM 120 Ray Wright Room
Join Eastman Americana for our final meeting of this semester! Bring your instrument, as we will be learning a
few tunes, as well as talking about what went well this semester, and thinking about what events and things
we would like to do next semester! Eastman Americana is SA Funded.
Late Night Breakfast
Monday, December 15, 9-11pm in the Dining Center
Studying late for finals?! Now you won’t starve! From 10pm-11pm, get some delicious breakfast noms in the
Dining Center – scrambled eggs, sausage, tots, French toasts sticks, fruit and yogurt. Bring your books and
study while you eat. Free for ESM students with valid ESM ID. Sponsored by Dining Services and the Office of
Student Life.

Holiday Sing
Join the entire Eastman Community on Friday, December 11 at noon, for the annual Holiday Sing in Lowry Hall.
This Eastman tradition brings together students, faculty and staff for a variety of student performances.
Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
If you are a student with a disability, and require academic accommodations in the classroom, be sure to see
Melissia Schmidt, Assistant Dean for Student Life and Access Coordinator, to fill out all required forms and
facilitate the implementation of your accommodations. Accommodation forms must be filled out each
semester in order for a student to receive accommodations; accommodations cannot be made retroactively.

Order Your Yearbook – Deadline to order is February 5!
Commemorate your time at Eastman with the 2016 yearbook, The Score. This year’s edition of The Score will
feature Eastman events, programs, activities, clubs & organizations, studios, ensembles and more! Yearbooks
are $15, and must be pre-ordered by February 5th. There is no option to order the yearbook after this date, so
act now! You can order your copy online at www.ybpay.lifetouch.com and enter ID code 7685516, or visit the
Office of Student Life and pay for your yearbook via cash or URos. The Score is created by members of EPIC
who work diligently on the yearbook all year! Make sure you don’t miss out on this year’s unique,
commemorative yearbook!
Careers Advising
Tis the season to adorn your résumé, CV, or cover letter! Will you seek a position as a performer, conductor,
future faculty, or in arts administration? The Office of Careers and Professional Development at the Institute
for Music Leadership will help you at any stage. An advisor can discuss ways to put your passions to work or
help you craft career documents that get noticed. These services are free to Eastman students. Contact us at

Forum on Yik Yak
The University community is invited to a forum about the social media application Yik Yak from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Friday, December 11, in the Gowen Room, Wilson Commons. Paul Burgett, vice president, senior advisor to
the president, and cochair of the Presidential Commission on Race and Diversity, will moderate the forum. A
brief panel discussion will be followed by an open discussion. The forum will be recorded, transcribed, and
posted on the commission's website.
Audition for the Ultimate Music Theatre Event of the Spring!
This coming Spring semester, the UR International Theatre Program on River Campus is presenting a new poprock-electronica musical version of Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children. With composer Matt
Marks in residence, we're developing and recording the world premiere version of this timely and important
work. Auditions are the first Friday (Jan 15 at 7pm) and Saturday (Jan 16 at 2pm) of next semester in Todd

Evans Lam Scholarship for Summer Study in Hong Kong
The Evans Lam Study Abroad Scholarship for Hong Kong and China offers students the opportunity to study at
the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for six weeks over the summer. The scholarship covers two
courses taken at CUHK during the summer of 2016, as well as participation in an experiential study tour of
Beijing, and provides up to $5000 per student to cover tuition, housing, most meals, and post-program travel
within mainland China. A full list of courses is available at: http://www.osp.cuhk.edu.hk/course/iss.
Undergraduates in the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering, as well as the Eastman School of Music, are
eligible to apply. For information on applying, please contact Dr. Hain at jhain@esm.rochester.edu. The
application deadline is January 15, 2016!
Eastman Concert Office Hours
The ESM Concert Office will close for the Winter Break on Wednesday, December 23rd at 4 PM and will reopen on Monday, January 4th at 9 AM.
