4.1 None
5.0 Standing Committee Reports
5.1 Facilities Development Council – Meting now; no news on new vision
5.2 Curriculum - SB 440—all programs with AA degree with now need to be transferable, and degrees
will be created ie Geography will need an AAT. 100% compliance in two years.
5.3 Board Meeting – First since B. Henry passed and E. Ivans is back.
5.4 Instructional Services Council – Not met
5.5 College Planning Council – Going over Master Plan Draft
5.6 District Leadership Council – AP 4050 going to DECC for review; we will have to follow up with Stu
or Stacy to find out what happened.
5.7 Equivalency - We want our decisions put in faculty senate meetings. We denied Holy Blair, Stefan
McGovern, and Steve Wright. S. Droker wanted to remind us that B. Hunt and S. Droker taught IS .
(They may have been given emergency eq.) However, these people hadn’t actually been given
equivalency to teach those classes by the committee. S. Wright is currently on schedule for spring 14.
There are five new ones to discuss.
5.8 SLO Committee – Continuation of mapping . Faculty meeting Dec. 6th at noon.
5.9 DECC Committee – AP 4050 Articulation went to the DECC
5.10 Student Services Council - They haven’t met.

Instructional Area Reports
6.1 Arts and Letters- Nothing
6.2 Career Technical Education—Highly concerned about organizational chart and reduction of faculty
on committees. Seems like an efficient way to reduce the voice of the faculty. There seems to be a
disproportionate amount of administrators. C. Cowden went to central region articulation meeting and
wants to note that big push in state is articulation of non-CTE programs. So Cal urban areas are
getting rid of AP courses and articulation is the new answer. If we articulate a class to the HS, then
transcripts should say that you don’t have to take the class; it’s waived and won’t be on transcript. If
it’s transcripted, they have to have taken the final exam. There is a difference between articulation and
units. So, Bio 10 articulates to HS; if they have a ‘B’ or better in HS school, then they can take a
proctored exam to earn credit in college for the course. The instructor is paid for three hours to proctor
the exam. These are the university bound students. Our curriculum forms need to say something like:
this class has content that cannot be completed with credit by exam.
