At least 1 unit of Korean courses (core) to select from:

Culture and Society in 20th Century Korea 1 unit
History and Culture of Korea to the late 19th Century 1 unit
The remaining units are to be made up from the other degree subject.
YEAR 2 / YEAR 3 (Year at SOAS)
2 units of Korean language courses:*

Elementary Korean (core) 1 unit
Elementary Korean II 1 unit
*Students with basic level knowledge of Korean can take the following courses instead, subject to the
course and BA Korean programme convenors’ approval:

Intermediate Korean 1 unit
Higher Intermediate Readings in Korean 1 unit
The remaining units may be made up from the other degree subject and/or up to 1 open option
