Overview
Student will create a work of art based on the Elements of Art/Design.
This will serve as a practice and review of the Elements of Art and a
lesson in design. To complete this assignment student will use pencils,
color pencils, markers, crayons, oil pastel and various textured found
materials.
Description
Students will...
 Choice a picture from a magazine and cut it out in a square or
rectangular form
 Choose a piece of drawing paper (12x18 if picture is rectangular
or 18x18 if picture is square)
 Sketch out the picture onto the drawing paper.



Divide the chosen picture and paper into 6 equal or random
sections.
Choose a section of the picture and use an element of art.(i.e.
Line, Shape, Color, Value, Texture, Shape). as the focus for that
section.

 Give clear and concise directions or procedures (Language Arts

 Demonstrate ability to select and use appropriate technology and
media for presenting information for target audience for the

graphs, charts, and other visual aids to enhance informational

 Identify and interpret visual characteristics that influence meaning

 Students are encouraged to get periodic feedback from their
peers and view others work in progress. It is to emphasize that
we can all learn from each other.
 Public display of completed work for appreciation, reflection and
interpretation.
