About the Position:
Respiratory Therapists at Children’s can work in several different areas. We have Critical Care and Floor Therapy
positions. You will apply your theoretical to the care of infant child, adolescent and adult patients and clients.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Using time efficiently and productively; prioritizing multiple tasks properly to meet deadlines; recognizing time
constraints and adjusting work schedule to address them.

Clinical Knowledge
Professional knowledge and clinical ability sufficient to provide quality care

Understanding and showing respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of all individuals; leveraging differences in
others' perspectives and ideas; appreciating cultural differences and adjusting one's approach to successfully
integrate with others who are different from oneself
Physical Stamina - Moderate
Possess physical stamina sufficient to perform moderate lifting, frequent stooping, and extensive standing/walking
Emotional Resilience
Remaining composed and calm when faced with setbacks, disappointments, rejection, crises, stress or pressure;
readily putting aside concerns to get the job done; taking a problem solving rather than an emotional approach
when faced with a difficult situation; being even-tempered and non-defensive
Communication
Effective verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills
Education/Work Experience
Required:
·Graduate of a CoARC approved respiratory care program
·Registry credentials by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
·Other state licenses may be required for specific positions
·Possess certification in the following at the end of the first year of employment:
·PALS Certification
·ACLS Certification
·NRP Certification
·RT's whose primary work unit is NICU are required to be certified in NRP and PALS. All other RT's are required
to be certified in PALS and ACLS
Preferred:
·Bachelors of Science degree in an appropriate discipline
·NPS Certification by the NBRC
