Ans. A good listener must be disciplined. Discipline means obedience to the
established rules of conduct. A good listener must be patient.

Ans. Listening is the source of better understanding and learning.
Montgomery has suggested six varied principles of listening effectively.
Who formulated the principles of good listening? In which book?
Ans. Robert.L.Montegomery laid down six principles which an individual
must follow to become a good listener. In his book listening Made Easy he has
shown the ways to improve the listening skills of a person while at home or at
work.
Name the virtues which we must cultivate to become good listeners.
Ans. The six principles are as follows.
1. Look in to a person.
2. Ask Questions.
3. Do not interrupt.
4. Do not deviate from the subject.
5. Emotions should be kept intact.
6. Responsiveness brings positive results.
Elaborate the following two principles of improving listening skills which
were laid down by Robert.L.Montegomery.
1. Look in to a person
The first principle of montegomery’s listening skills suggest us to look in
to the speakers eyes with confidence. As a listener we have to concentrate
hard and try to understand the basic concept of the speakers speech. Our
sincere attentiaon will be a source of inspiration to the speakers and he
will get motivated.
2. Responsiveness brings positive resul
Responsiveness is the base for the development of the dialogue. It is your
response which ultimately decides fate of the debate. In case of dull
attitude of the listener , the speaker will anticipate the is the level of
dialogue is beyond the intelligent level of listener. The speaker will give
up all his effort carry on the debate. The speaker must be intelligent
enough to keep the interest of the listener alive. The listener may show
his interest by frequent nodding of his head.

one thing after another in a halfhearted way. So it is necessary for every man
to have a definite aim in life.

Ans. Student life is the seed time of our entire life. If we want good crops, the
seeds have sown at the proper time. Students should study hard to acquire as
much knowledge as possible; otherwise they will fell quite helpless in future.

Ans. Students must remember that they have a duty to their ignorant and
downthrown countrymen. Education should comprise not only book learning
