Position Summary
The eLearning Program Manager oversees the development and operation of AAPS’ eLearning opportunities, including
collaborating with the AAPS Electronic Program Development Committee (EPDC) and eCourse Program Teams to solicit
proposals, identify opportunities for, develop and assess comprehensive eLearning courses. The eLearning Program
Manager will also address any customer inquiries and coordinate with the Marketing and Technology Departments as
necessary to facilitate projects. Work is performed under general direction. No supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities










Collaborate with EPDC, eCourse Program Teams and staff to define, create, implement, monitor and report
status of the production of engaging online courses;
Analyze data to determine effectiveness of instructional systems and course material;
Assess AAPS member eLearning needs assessments defining learning and performance objectives;
Coordinate activities with Learning Management System provider; Outline, track and maintain key project
timelines and deliverables;
Monitor emerging and state of the art technologies, requirements, developments, and standards (for example,
accessibility issues) and recommend, and as directed, takes action to ensure compliance;
Interact with individual and section members to solicit and facilitate appropriate scientific content for eLearning
events;
Create product descriptions and interact with staff of Marketing, Publications and Outreach for implementation
of promotional efforts. Create and maintains eCourse web pages on AAPS portal;
Prepare annual eLearning budget and update tactical plan;
Assess and/or identify eLearning offerings from other organizations (both non-profit and for-profit), in order to
provide some perspective on the development and potential success of AAPS eLearning opportunities; and
Other responsibilities as appropriate and necessary to achieve department and AAPS goals and objectives.
Successful candidate will have









Bachelor’s degree in eLearning or related professional/scientific (pharmaceutical science, biotechnology,
chemistry) field with a minimum of five years progressive experience in the design, implementation, and
management of eLearning courses or events;
Master’s degree in a relevant field, a plus;
Demonstrated creativity in developing quality on-line eLearning activities preferred.
Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work;
Knowledge of online course development process, learning management systems (BlueSky Broadcast preferred)
and/or relevant web applications;
Excellent project management skills;
Ability to manage cost, schedule and performance and provide weekly progress updates;
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative
environment;
Knowledge and use of eLearning tools (SCORM/AICC eLearning standards);







Ability to work with content providers (eCourse Program Teams, EPDC, PCC) and recommend strategies for
delivery of eLearning material;
Familiar with methodology of QC product testing;
Ability to complete multiple tasks on deadline;
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
Strong attention to detail;
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and
Willingness to respond to member inquiries on nights and weekends as needed.
