APPROPRIATE GRADUATION ATTIRE
Graduation is a formal occasion where students are representing their school, family and
community; therefore, they are expected to dress accordingly.
Specifically, students are to wear under their graduation gown semi-formal clothing – dress pants,
shoes (no sandals), socks, collared dress shirt (no tee shirts) and tie (recommended; not mandatory)
for young men; and dresses/skirts/dress slacks, appropriate tops and shoes/sandals (no flip flops)
for young women.
Graduation Caps may have pictures or appropriate language written on them; they will be checked
before graduation.
NO JEANS, SHORTS, SNEAKERS OR WORK BOOTS WILL BE ALLOWED.
If students come to graduation and are not wearing the appropriate clothing or shoes, they will be
sent home by an administrator to change into appropriate attire and will jeopardize whether they
arrive back in time to graduate. So please students, dress appropriately so you and your family can
enjoy this momentous and joyous occasion without added stress.
One other issue that needs to be addressed is a serious and dangerous one. This issue is drinking
and driving. To avoid any tragedy at this time of year, I ask that you take every precaution to
make sure your son or daughter is not drinking and driving. Please make sure you know the
activities your son or daughter plans to attend. Will you also consider the fact that it is illegal to
supply alcohol to a minor? I think we should be doing whatever we can to send a strong message
to our children that they should not drink. Let's work together to make this a very enjoyable,
memorable, and safe occasion.
A GIFT FROM THE CLASS OF 2014: The Plymouth Regional High School Senior Class has
generously donated money from their class treasury to hire a professional photographer for
graduation. Lifetouch Studios will have two photographers at graduation and will provide each
senior with a 5x7 photograph. This will ensure that every parent/guardian receives a photo of their
graduate receiving their diploma without the stress and chaos of everyone trying to find a place to
take pictures. Pictures will be mailed home by Mrs. Prescott. Duplicates of the photo will be
available upon request through Lifetouch Studios (800-577-6453). Plymouth Regional High
School wishes to thank the Class of 2014 for their most generous donation.
Sincerely,
Bruce W. Parsons
