In Vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center (ICMIC) Developmental Project
Website:
http://mips.stanford.edu/grants/icmic/2010-2015/
Deadline: Monday, January 27, 2014 (see "Submitting and Application" below)
Amount of funding/Budget Information:
We will fund up to 2 pilot projects at $20,000 each.
Applicants may request up to $20,000 in total direct costs for up to a one-year duration of the
supplemental Developmental Projects under this program.
Most Developmental Projects will be a one-year project and continuation of a project beyond its first
year will be contingent upon the success of the previous year.
Purpose
The in Vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center (ICMIC@Stanford) is soliciting new and continuing
Developmental Projects from established investigators. The vision of ICMIC@Stanford is to bring
together researchers from various disciplines to form synergistic teams that will make significant
advances in the use of multimodality molecular imaging strategies for better linking pre-clinical
models of cancer with the clinical management of cancer. Members of these teams will include
trainees that will gain access to a highly multidisciplinary experience, and who will become well
equipped to establish independent, multidisciplinary research programs. Projects will mainly include
those that have a high potential for linking pre-clinical imaging models with clinical imaging for
improved cancer patient management. This program is funded through the NIH/NCI P50 grant.
Eligibility
Established investigators (Stanford faculty with UTL, MCL or NTLR appointments)
All applications, regardless of relationship to the ICMIC@Stanford, will undergo the same level of
scrutiny before being identified as an appropriate Developmental Project.
Submitting an Application
Contact/Questions? Applicants are welcome to discuss their research plans in response to this
solicitation with Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir (sgambhir@stanford.edu).
If selected and funded
Funding is contingent upon receipt of all required documents and protocols, hence, verification of
approved protocols must be submitted to Billie Robles at the Department of Radiology. A yearly
progress report in NIH format will also be due to Billie Robles. The due dates will be provided upon
selection of applicants. Attendances to several ICMIC meetings are required to show progress of
project.
