Diamond Ridge School Community Council Mid-Year Report
The Diamond Ridge School Community Council is excited to inform you of the LAND Trust and School Student
Achievement Plan goals which were established for the 2010-2011 school year and to give a brief overview of
what we, as a council, have discussed. The Diamond Ridge Elementary School goals for 2010-2011 center on
Literacy and Numeracy. They are:
Literacy Goals: Goal 1) 50% of our K-6 students who are not at benchmark will move up
one category from Intensive to Strategic or from Strategic to Benchmark by the end of the
school year. Goal 2) 90% of our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will benchmark on
Phoneme Segmentation by the end of the school year.
Numeracy Goals: goal 1) 70% of our students in grades 1-2 and 60% of our students in
grades 3-6 will reach a score of mastery on YPP by the end of the school year. Goal 2) 70% of
our students in grade 3-6 will score 76% or higher (Tier 4) overall on Acuity benchmark tests
throughout the school year. Goal 3) 80% of our students will score 80% or higher on Singapore
math mid-year and end-of-year testing.
In order to help us meet these goals we discussed our budgets and determined the most critical needs of our
school. This year’s budgets have provided training for teachers in both math and literacy, our computer lab
aide allowing for continuous use of our technology, library books, and math manipulative items to support
instruction.
In addition to making decisions regarding school goals, our School Community Council developed safe walking
routes, discussed the music program changes for next year, and damaged library book concerns. We are
happy to have this forum available and invite all with suggestions or concerns to contact a member of our
School Community Council. Thanks for your continued support as we work together to provide the best
education possible for our students.
