DESCRIPTION (field, expectations, comments):
The candidate for the position of adiunct should have scientific achievements as well as teaching experience,
documented by scientific achievements belonging to the discipline of chemistry. The person hired on the position of
adiunct will fulfill teaching tasks (independently conducting classes and laboratories) in the field of organic chemistry,
general chemistry and instrumental analysis. In terms of scientific and research tasks, this person will be responsible
for the design and synthesis of nematic and smectic liquid crystals, evaluation of their physical and chemical
properties as well as formulation of new applicable liquid crystal mixtures. The duties of the adiunct will also include
the monitoring of chemical reaction rates, using high performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography
coupled with mass spectrometry. There is required the knowledge and the experience (confirmed by publications on A
list MNiSW) in the field of the subject mentioned above as well as the experience in the teaching of the students.
Admission requirements:
 Doctoral degree in chemistry;
 Recognizable scientific achievements (at least 10 papers on A list MNiSW, at least 6 Hirsch index);
 Research project management skills confirmed by the management of own research project as well as the
participation in at least 3 research projects;
 At least 5-years’ experience in teaching (confirmed by an independent performing min. 500 hours of classes in
the field of organic chemistry at a technical university).
 The ability to synthesize liquid crystal compounds,
 Knowledge of investigation methods of physicochemical properties of liquid crystals;
 Knowledge of investigation methods of phase transitions as well as the identification of liquid crystals phases
by different methods;
 Knowledge of the design and investigation of the liquid crystalline mixtures;
 Practical skills of HPLC and GC-MS techniques;
 Ability to fluently communicate in English.
The competition application should include:
- a letter of application to the Rector of the Military University of Technology,
- candidate’s questionnaire,
- CV,
- copies of diplomas and other documents confirming / proving the candidate's qualifications,
- a declaration of consent to process personal data included in the job application in accordance with the Data
Protection Act of 29th August, 1997,
- a statement that the candidate/applicant has full capacity to act according to the law in force,
- a declaration of no charges within a final judgment of a deliberate crime,
- a declaration of no charges within the disciplinary procedure of the deprivation of rights to practice the profession of
academic teacher on a permanent or fixed-term basis/contract,
- a declaration on the full use of civil rights,
- a declaration stating whether MUT is the core or non-core workplace for the applicant.
