In accordance with the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), each state has in place a State Performance Plan (SPP) to evaluate the state’s efforts to meet
the requirements and purposes of Part B of the IDEA. The SPP (2005-2012) is a plan that describes Alabama’s performance on 20 Indicators. The state has established
measurable and rigorous targets for each indicator and reports annually on the performance of the state under the SPP in the Annual Performance Report (APR). The
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) in the U.S. Department of Education requires states to report annually to the public on the performance of the state and
each local education agency (LEA) on the following Indicators for this reporting period: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.
