This is the second year for this
specifically designed program at
Mountain View. The program will
address some of the challenges
students face as they transition into
middle school regarding note taking,
study skills, and organizational skills.
Students will also be able to tackle
word problems and write essays.
There is 1 instructor for every 6
students. This club is for 5th grade
students.

Kid Chess focuses on keeping
the game fun while teaching
theme lessons such as
sportsmanship, problem
solving, critical thinking,
concentration skills, patience,

Participation in chess has been
shown to increase test scores
in reading and math.
