Anchor Club Meeting

Anchor meetings will be held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, at 8:45 am, in
Freedom Hall unless we tell you differently. The next Anchor meeting will be on
October 22nd. Please be on time so we can start on time.
Information - We have a Facebook page. Pace High School Anchor Club – ask to join.
All information (agendas) with be on the Facebook page and on the Pace High School
web page under Anchor Club. If you do not have access to internet you can stop by Ms.
Cook’s room and pick up a hard copy of each meeting’s agenda.
Anchor State Convention – March – start saving your money. Cost will be no less than
$250

If you have not turned in Anchor dues, please see Ms. Cook or Mrs. Williams.

Don’t forget to sign in. Remember if you are absent, you must turn a written note in or
send an email to Christian or Mrs. Williams or Ms. Cook explaining why you missed the
meeting. If you attend PSC/UWF on the morning of meetings, you must also let
Christian know in order to be excused.
All members must meet the requirements to be a member: dues paid (cannot refund
dues because they will be sent off to International and state), fundraiser participation,
5 service hours the first nine weeks and a total of 20 for the school year, attendance to
meetings, and a 2.0 GPA. If requirements not fulfilled than membership will be
dropped.

Every Anchor is required to participate in ALL the fundraisers. Not just some of them.
Kona Ice at Field Day for Homecoming
Teacher Chik-fil-a Lunches – October 19 – Planning Day
Making Strides Basket give-a-way – each Anchor is to bring in a PINK item (more if you
like) to go into the basket. All proceeds will go toward the Anchor Team’s donation to
the Making Strides again cancer walk. Bring in your receipt to get Anchor $ hours. NO
USED ITEMS!!! All items due by TODAY. You can turn them in at a meeting or to any
sponsor.

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House. This will be an on-going project throughout the
year. Turn the pop tabs in to a sponsor.
October 31st - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk - Help fight cancer by
bringing at least a $10 or more donation to this event or turn donations in early to Mrs.
Williams (no checks please – all money will be turned in directly at the event) . It will be
held at 8 am and it starts at Cordova Mall. Make sure you bring a donation with you if
you didn’t turn it in before.
November 21 – Mary Stewart Fortune Fun Run – Right now, they need people to sign up
and walk/run
Vision of Hope – All activities this year are held from 6 - 8 pm
November 5 --Arts & Crafts (Transition Center)
December 3 - Christmas Party (Wallace Baptist Church)
International:


Zambezi Schoolbook Project - This is a project from our Florida District. We will be
collected gently used and new books to send to Africa to help with literacy.

October 8th – TONIGHT – Dixon Intermediate Family Fun Night, please sign up in
the back!
October 16th – Mrs. Freeman needs 6 people to help with the Homecoming Alumni
Reception at the football pavilion from 6:45-halftime.
October 19th- Teacher Planning Day- Help a teacher at any Santa Rosa School and get
Anchor Hours. Make sure to have the teacher e-mail Ms. Cook with the number of hours
you worked for her/him.
Thanksgiving Baskets – Ms. Cook – Please start turning in food so that we can create nice
Thanksgiving baskets for people in need in our school. See the list for details.
Canned Food Drive – SGA is sponsoring the canned food drive for the Milton game. They
are collecting cans until October 30. They are hosting a “Hunger Games” competition
between clubs and asked Anchor to sponsor District 4. Bring in cans with receipts for
Anchor $ hours.
October 30th – ESE Carnival at school in Freedom Hall.
Pea Ridge dates for book fair, open house, etc.
