Holly Lodge
A Specialist 11- 19 Science College
Teacher of English
Main Pay Scale
Required for September 2016
If you are looking to join a friendly and supportive group of people committed to the
success of the youngsters they work with, then this is the school for you! We are
currently looking for an enthusiastic, creative and suitably qualified teacher of English to
teach across the age and ability range.
This position is available to newly qualified and more experienced colleagues and Holly
Lodge offers excellent CPD opportunities.
Holly Lodge School is a mixed 11-19 Specialist Science College. Currently it has over
1400 students on roll, but this is increasing steadily due to the rapid improvement that
the school has successfully made. The school is part of the ‘building schools for the
future’ programme with a new £23.5 million school that completed in September 2011
offering state of the art teaching and learning facilities.
Holly Lodge School is a thriving and exciting school, which has made significant
progress in recent years. Our results continue to be in a rising trend at both KS4 and
KS5. In KS4 Holly Lodge raised its headline 5A*-C including English and Maths figure in
2015 with over 66% of students achieving A*-C in English, and record results for
Science. Once again the percentage of students achieving expected progress in English
and Science is above national averages. We have had record results at KS5 with our
highest average points score hitting 1014.2, way above national expectations.
The school was described by OFSTED as a ‘Good’ school with ‘dynamic leadership’,
‘high quality teaching’ and effective support systems. (Ofsted 2013)
