Music Tutor Scheme Information for Arawang website
Arawang Music Tutor Scheme
The P&C Association, with the generous cooperation of the school, offers individual instrumental lessons,
during school hours, on piano and guitar. The lessons are provided by qualified music teachers, who are
engaged by the Music Tutor Scheme subcommittee. The lessons are conducted in rooms made available by
the school.
Currently about 60 students are enrolled in the scheme learning with our three guitar and two piano teachers.
The scheme conducts a concert for parents and friends late in term 3 each year and this is the best attended
after hours function in the school year!!!
Payment for lessons is made directly to the teachers. The fee for lessons is determined individually by the
teachers but is capped by the committee - currently at $38 per lesson. In addition to the lesson fee, a small
levy of $5 per term is collected by the teachers on behalf of the music tutor scheme. This covers such costs as
piano tuning, annual concert expenses, equipment for the teaching rooms etc.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Music Tutor Scheme, please click on the following link to
download the Music Tutor Scheme Parent Agreement which contains more detailed information, terms and
conditions and an application form. There is usually a small waiting list for lessons and completion of the
parent agreement is required before students can go on the waiting list.
