Arts Annex
 Parking -Lot ZE – There are two (2) spots located on the west side of the building.
Parking lot U (on the east side) has NO disability spots.
 Exterior Signage -There are two (2) signs for the spots inside the building.
 Curb Cuts – Located directly in front of the two spots on the west side. Also on the
east side outside of the parking lot U.
 Ramps – Ramps are located on all sides of Art Annex. One ramp is located on the
west side of the building. Both the north side and south side of the building have
ramps. The east side of the building leading to the main entrance.

are next to spots located at parking lot V.

east of the main entry.

Ben ‘NightHorse’ Cambell Center for Cancer
 Parking – Lot V- Two (2) spots on the North side of parking lot, in center of the
building.

entrance).
 Ramps – Leading to main (south) entrance.
 Exterior Entrances – This building has outside entrances and parking spots marked.

floor that are accessible.

Butler- Hancock Hall
 Parking - The nearest accessible parking lot is located west of this building in Lot M.
There are five (5) accessible spaces located in the east side of this lot. Curb cuts are
located between each space.
 Exterior Signage - There are no exterior signs indicating accessible entrances.
 Curb Cuts - There are three (3) curb cuts located near the west entrance of the
building.
 Ramps - There are many ramps and curb cuts throughout the different levels of
Parking Lot M leading to this building.
 Exterior Entrances - There are two (2) accessible entrances with automatic doors
located at the north and west entrances.
 Restrooms - There are three (3) accessible restrooms in this building. The first floor
restroom is in the east hallway, in the locker room and in the Coach's Locker Room.
There are also restrooms located on the second (2 nd) floor, in the south hallway.
 Drinking Fountains - Accessible drinking fountains are located on each floor.
 Elevator - An accessible elevator is located in the southeast corner of the building.
 Interior Signage - All interior signs are contrast, however only some are raised and
brailed.
Candelaria Hall
 Parking - The nearest accessible parking lot is located west of Candelaria in Lot L.
There are seven (7) accessible spaces located in the east side of this lot. There is
one curb cut for all seven spaces. However, this curb cut may be inaccessible if cars
park in front of it.
 Exterior Signage - There are two (2) signs indicating the route to the nearest
accessible entrance. These signs are located on a light pole east of the building, as
well as one on the west side of the building.
 Curb Cuts - There is one (1) curb cut located near the building. It is located directly
across the street from the accessible spaces in Parking Lot L.
 Ramps - There are two (2) ramps located at the northeast and southeast entrances
to this building. The northeast ramp leads to an accessible entrance.
 Exterior Entrances - There are two (2) accessible entrances with automatic doors
located at the southwest and northeast entrances.
 Restrooms - All restrooms are accessible in this building, except for the lack of a
raised toilet seat. Each floor has a restroom located in the north hallway. First floor
restroom provides more room than the other floor restrooms.
 Drinking Fountains - Accessible drinking fountains are located in the north hallway
of each floor.
 Elevator - An accessible elevator is located in the north hallway of each floor.
 Interior Signage - Letters and numerals are raised, brailed, and contrast on signs
located outside of all classrooms, offices, and bathrooms. However, directional signs
are not brailed.
Carter Hall
 Parking - The nearest accessible parking lot is located north of Kepner in Lot KE.
There are six (6) accessible spaces located in the SW corner of the lot. There are
three (3) curb cuts also in this lot.
 Exterior Signage – There two (2) signs indicating the routes to the nearest
accessible entrances. One (1) sign is located on the east side of the building and the
other is located on the south side.
 Curb Cuts – There are three (3) curb cuts located near the accessible parking
spaces in Lot KE.
 Ramps – There are no ramps located in this building.
 Exterior Entrances – There is one (1) accessible entrance located at the east side
of the building.

Restrooms – There are accessible restrooms located on the 2nd floor – the men’s
restroom is located in the west hallway and women’s is located in the east hallway.
On the 3rd floor there is a men’s accessible restroom, but not a women’s.
Drinking Fountains – Accessible drinking fountains are located on each floor.
Elevator – An accessible elevator is located in the middle of the building.
Interior Signage – Restrooms signs are brailed, contrasted, and raised, but all other
signs are only contrasted.
Other – There is a handicap safety gate located on the sidewalk leading from the
east entrance of this building the service vehicle loading dock.
Cassidy Hall
 Parking – There are three (3) spots located in parking lot T, west of building (back
end). Two (2) spots are fairly far from any curb cut.
 Exterior Signage – There are no exterior signs indicating accessible entrances.
 Curb Cuts – There are curb cuts located in the southwest back lot and at all
crosswalks surrounding building.
 Ramps – There is a ramp leading to the main northeast entrance.
 Exterior Entrances – An accessible automatic entrance is located at the main
northeast entrance.
 Restrooms – There are accessible restrooms located on the first floor, east of
reception desk. The second (2nd) floor has accessible restrooms located to the left of
the counseling center, on the west side of building.
 Drinking Fountains – Accessible drinking fountains are located on both the first (1st)
and second (2nd) floor, next to the elevator.
 Elevator – An elevator is located on the southeast side of the building.
 Interior Signage – Signs have raised, brailed, and contrasted letters and numbers.
Directional signs, however, are not brailed or raised.
Cesar Chavez Center/ Patton House
 Parking - There is one (1) space that is situated at the south end of the house. The
parking space is located up the dirt road that leads up to the Cesar Chavez Center/
Patton house.
 Exterior Signage - There are no exterior signs indicating accessible entrances.
 Curb Cuts - There are no curb cuts available. (Not needed)
 Ramps - There is one (1) ramp located at the north entrance.
 Exterior Entrances - There is a low handle leading to the main entrance, however
there are no automatic entrances.
 Restrooms - There is one (1) restroom located in the west hallway of the first floor.

Crabbe Hall
 Parking – There are two (2) accessible parking spaces located in Lot ZW with one
curb cut.
 Exterior Signage – There is one (1) sign indicating the route to the nearest
accessible entrance. This sign is located between Crabbe and Guggenheim.
 Curb Cuts – There is one (1) curb cut located near the accessible parking spaces in
Lot ZW.
 Ramps – There is one (1) ramp located at the west side of building leading down to
the accessible entrance.
 Exterior Entrance – There is one (1) accessible entrance to this building located at
the west side of the building.

Restrooms – In the basement of the building there is a men’s accessible restroom
(but no women’s). On the first floor there is a women’s accessible restroom (but no
men’s). On the second floor there is another men’s accessible restroom (but no
women’s).

Decker Hall

 Curb Cuts – Curb cuts are next to the parking spots on 10th avenue and curb cuts
are next to spots located at parking lot V.
 Ramps – There is access to all entrances.
 Exterior Entrances – The entrances do have push button entry ways and are
accessible for all students.
 Restrooms – There is accessible restrooms that are located on the main floor.
 Drinking Fountains – Accessible drinking fountains are located on each floor.



Foundation Hall
 Parking – Parking Lot W has two (2) spots for accessible parking. One (1) spot can
be found on the north side of the building and the second spot can be found south
side of the building.
 Exterior Signage – This building has parking spots, entryways and exits marked.
 Curb Cuts – The curb cuts can be found near parking spots.
 Ramps – This building does have ramp access for all seating in Foundation Hall.
 Exterior Entrances – The entry ways and exits in the main entrance do have push
button access doors. The main entrance can be located on the west side of the
building.
 Restrooms – The restrooms are located in the main (1st) floor in Foundation Hall.
 Drinking Fountains – There is accessible drinking fountains in the main lobby.
 Elevator – There is no elevator currently in the building.
 Interior Signage – All interior signs are contrast, however only some are raised and
brailed.
Frasier Hall
 Parking – There is two (2) spots in lot S on the west end of the building across 10th
avenue. There is also parking on the east side of the building on 9th avenue and
17th street.
 Exterior Signage – There is a sign in front of Carter Hall pointing to an accessible
entrance, but none on west side of building.
 Curb Cuts – There is curb cuts in both the parking lot S, and the east entrance
parking spaces leading to the entrances.

Exterior Entrances – There is no button on the northwest door. There is only one
accessible entrance on the southeast side near Carter Hall.
Restrooms – The restrooms on the northeast side of the first floor are the most
accessible in the building. The stalls are wide enough, and the seat is close enough
to the rails. The second and third floor restrooms are not bad for accessibility, but not
as much space as the first floor.
Elevator – There is an accessible elevator going to all floors. Elevator must be used
to change floors.
Ramps – Ramps are available on all floors where needed.
Drinking Fountains – Some drinking fountains on the first floor are low enough to
access, however some are not. On the third floor, the fountains are not low enough
to access.
Interior Signage – The signs inside this building are not very good. Not very many
signs other than the restrooms are adequately marked. Some are not brailed, raised,
or contrasted at all.
Gordon Hall
 Parking – 10th avenue across from 9th avenue.
 Exterior Signage – None.
 Curb Cuts – No curb cuts but there is one near the visitor’s center parking (lot V).
 Ramps – Ramps are not needed for Gordon hall.
 Exterior Entrances – Button accessible entrance on south side.
 Restrooms – There are accessible bathrooms on the first floor of the building located
east of the main entry.
 Drinking Fountains – This building has drinking fountains located near the
restrooms.
 Elevator – This building has no elevator.

Gray Hall









Parking - There is one (1) accessible space with a curb cut located in Parking Lot
ZE. This lot is closer to the side of Gray Hall where the Norton Theatre is located.
There are two (2) accessible parking spaces with one curb cut located in Lot ZW.
This lot is closer to the side of Gray Hall where the UNC Police Dept. and Parking
Services are located.
Exterior Signage – There are no exterior signs indication accessible entrances.
Curb Cuts – Curb cuts are located near the accessible parking spaces in both Lot
ZE and ZW.
Ramps – There are no ramps located in this building.
Exterior Entrances – There are two (2) accessible entrances to this building. One of
these entrances is located at northwest end of the building leading to the Norton
Theatre. The second accessible entrance is located at the south end of the building
leading to the police dept. and parking services. This is a special entrance
designated for personnel and disabled persons only.
Restrooms – There are two (2) accessible restrooms located in this building. One of
these is located in the basement near the police department. The other is located on
the first floor near the entrance to the Norton Theatre.
Drinking Fountains – The two (2) accessible drinking fountains are located next to
the accessible restrooms in the building.
Elevator - There is an elevator located at the south entrance to the building.
Interior Signage – Restrooms signs are brailed, contrasted, and raised, but all other
signs are only contrasted.

Guggenheim Hall
 Parking – The closest parking lot is located at Kepner or across 8th avenue. The
accessible parking at Kepner is located north in Lot KE. There are nine (9)
accessible spaces located in the SE and SW corners of the lot. There are three (3)
curb cuts also in this lot.
 Exterior Signage – There is a sign in front of the building indicating the direction to
the accessible rear entrance.
 Ramps – There is a ramp on the west side of the building leading down to the first
floor entrance. There is no ramp going up the front steps.
 Exterior Entrances – The only accessible entrance is on the west side of the
building. The front is not accessible.
 Restrooms – The only accessible restroom is on the lower level. The door may be
hard to open going either way, but once inside, the restroom is accessible.
 Elevators – There is one (1) elevator that must be used to go from floor to floor.
 Interior Signage – There is color contrast and Braille on all signs as well as raised
lettering for description and number of room.
Gunter Hall
 Parking – The nearest accessible parking lot is located west of Gunter in Parking Lot
ZE. There are three (3) accessible spaces with two curb cuts.
 Exterior Signage - There is one (1) sign indicating the route to the nearest
accessible entrance located near the west entrance.
 Curb Cuts – There are two (2) curb cuts located near the accessible spaces in
Parking Lot ZE.
 Ramps – There is one (1) ramp located at the south entrance to the building.
 Exterior Entrances – There are three (3) accessible entrances to this building.
Entrances are located at the west, south, and east ends of the building.
 Restrooms – Accessible restrooms are located in the south halls of both the
basement and first (1st) floors. The first floor restroom sinks are a little high, but still
accessible. The second (2nd) floor also has accessible restrooms. There are no
restrooms located on the third (3rd) floor.
 Drinking Fountains – There are accessible drinking fountains located on all four (4)
floors. The basement and first (1st) floor fountains are found in the south hallways.
 Elevator – Elevator is located at the south end of building.
 Interior Signage – All interior signs are raised, brailed, and contrasted.
 Other – There is an “Area of Rescue Assistance” on the second (2 nd) floor, near the
stairwell at the north hallway.
Hansen Willis Hall
 Parking – There is an accessible parking in lot T on the west side of the building.
 Curb Cuts/Ramps – There is a sidewalk from the parking lot to the front entrance.
 Exterior Entrances – The front entrance on the east side is accessible with a button.
 Elevator – There is one service elevator that may possibly be used by students.
 Restrooms – There is one accessible restroom on the main floor outside of the rooms
near the main entrance, across from the elevator.
 Interior Signage – There is adequate signage inside the building on all floors.
Harrison Hall
 Parking - There are five (5) accessible spots with curb cuts between each located in
Lot H.
 Exterior Signage - There are no exterior signs indicating accessible entrances.
 Curb Cuts - There are curb cuts between each parking spot in Lot H.
 Ramps - There is one (1) ramp located inside the east entrance.

Kepner Hall
 Parking – The nearest accessible parking lot is located north of Kepner in Lot KE.

Kohl House
 Parking – There is one (1) accessible parking space on the west side of the building.
 Exterior Signage – There is a sign for the parking space and the space is well
painted.

space leading to the back of the building.

 Parking –There is one (1) spot located in the main circle area. (South side of

curb cuts can be found in the main circle drive way of Lawrenson.

 Restrooms – Restrooms are located on the first floor by the main (south) entrance.
 Drinking Fountains – Accessible drinking fountains can be located in the first floor
located on the west side of the main entry.
 Elevator – There are two (2) accessible elevators located in the main entry way.

Marcus Garvey Center (Davis House)
 Parking –The Marcus Garvey center is situated east of the University Center and is
situated in the Davis House. Accessible parking can be found behind the Davis
House on the south side of the building. Additional parking can be found at the Kohl
House (which is east of the Marcus Garvey Center) and at the University Center.
 Exterior Signage – The building does not have any exterior signage.
 Curb Cuts – This building does have curb cuts on the northwest side of the building
near the crosswalks on 20th street and 10th avenue (Leading to the University Center
and leading to Central Campus).
 Ramps – This building does have curb cuts and accessible ramps near entry ways
and exits.
 Exterior Entrances – The exterior entrance is located on the north end of the
building.
 Restrooms – The restroom can be located on the main floor.
 Drinking Fountains – Drinking fountains are located on the main floor.
 Elevator – This building does not have an elevator currently.
 Interior Signage – The Marcus Garvey center does have interior signage labeling
entry ways, exits and restrooms.
McKee Hall
 Parking - There are two (2) accessible parking lots near this building. Lot E is
located northeast of the building and has three accessible spaces. Lot D is located
northwest of the building and has four accessible spaces and two van accessible
spaces.
 Exterior Signage - There is one (1) sign indicating the route to the nearest
accessible entrance. This sign is located on a light pole at the northwest corner of
the building.
 Curb Cuts - There is one (1) curb cut located near the building. It is located
northwest of the building going towards Parking Lot D.
 Ramps - There are two (2) ramps located in Parking Lot E and Parking Lot D
leading towards the northeast and northwest entrances of the building.

Exterior Entrances - There is one accessible entrance with an automatic door
located at the southwest entrance. There are automatic doors located on each of the
lecture hall rooms. However, there are no signs on the lecture hall rooms.
Restrooms - There is a restroom located on all six floors of this building. The lower
level restrooms are not accessible, however. The first (1st) floor restrooms are
accessible aside from a heavy door that must be pulled to get out. The second (2 nd)
floor restroom is the same as the 1st floor. The third (3rd), fourth (4th) and fifth (5th)
floor restrooms also have heavy doors, no raised toilet seats, and high handles.
Drinking Fountains - Accessible drinking fountains are located on each floor of the
building.
Elevator - An accessible elevator is located in the southwest corner of each floor.
Interior Signage - Signs have enlarged or contrasting print and only a few are
brailed.
Michener Library
 Parking – Parking Lot M, with four spots located on the south-eastern part of the lot.
 Exterior Signage – The Parking lot spots are marked but there is no other exterior
signage
 Curb Cuts – Curb cuts are located west of the building, towards the parking lot.
 Exterior Entrances – Accessible entrances are located at the West and East sides
as well as the Main (northern) entrance.
 Restrooms – Accessible restrooms are located at the north corridor of the basement.
There are also accessible restrooms on the second and third floors which are equip
with accessibility rails and braille signage.
 Drinking Fountains – Drinking fountains are located in the North Corridor and west
corridor of the basement. They are also located near the restrooms on the second
and third floors of the building.
 Elevator – This building has an accessible elevator and it is located in the center of
the building and is accessible from the basement level (until 9:00pm) and the
mainfloor
 Interior Signage – The building does have interior signage for restrooms, offices
and room numbers, in large print and braille.
North Hall
 Parking – Parking Lot I, with three (3) spots located on the South-Western part of
the lot.
 Exterior Signage – Parking spots are marked but there is no other exterior signage

parking lot
 Exterior Entrances – Accessible entrances are located on the West and East sides
of the building.
 Restrooms – Accessible restrooms are located in the North Corridor on the first
floor.

near the restrooms.
 Elevator – The Building has two elevators located in the main lobby.

Nottingham Field
 Parking - Ten (10) spots can be found at the North side of the field in lot X.
 Exterior Signage – The only spots not marked are handicapped spots located on the
southwest side of parking Lot M. All other signs are marked.
 Curb Cuts – There are curb cuts located on all the entrances (west, north and east
doors into field) and around the parking spots that lead to sidewalks that provide
access to the field.
 Ramps – This building has ramp access to the north entrance.
 Exterior Entrances – Exterior entrances consist of the west circle entry, the north
entry and the east entry. All exterior entrances have signs marked.
 Restrooms – The restrooms are equipped with accessible rails and Braille marking
signs.
 Drinking Fountains – Nottingham Field does have drinking fountains.
 Elevator – There is an elevator located inside the west/ main entrance.
 Interior Signage – The building does have interior signage for restrooms, offices and

Parsons Hall
 Parking – Two (2) spots can be found in the main parking area which is on the south
side of the building (on 20th street). The two (2) spots are on the east side of the
parking lot.

and on the parking spaces.
 Curb Cuts – The curb cuts are located on the south side of the building.
 Ramps – There are two ramps located near the entrances on the south side. One
ramp is located on east side of the building near the main entrance. The other ramp
is located on the west side of the building near the entrance.

 Restrooms – This building has accessible restrooms that are located on the first
floor on the west side of the building.

Presidents Row
 Parking – The accessible parking can be found in parking Lot V. There are two (2)

 Curb Cuts – Faculty apartments have two (2) curb cuts. One (1) curb cut is located
on the west end of the building near the parking spots in Lot V. The second curb cut
