What’s New?
Need to ask the teacher a question?
With this terms swimming lesson programme finishing at
the beginning of December, there will be additional
lessons the two weeks before the Christmas holidays.
As the end of the term draws nearer you may have questions about your
child’s progress. If so, please do not disturb the teachers while they are
teaching. Leave your message with the receptionist and the teacher will
get in contact with you when they are available.
There will be intensive courses for Octopus 2/3. For
Goldfish and above there will be Focus courses. The
courses will focus on specific dynamics of stroke
technique. This gives swimmers who are being
challenged by a particular aspect of the stage or stroke an
opportunity to work specifically on it. This is a great
chance to have extra focused tuition.
There will be a variety of other activities, such as water
polo, life saving, swim fit and even an opportunity to try
out ‘Sharks’ swimming club.
The re-enrolment information that you will receive at the end of the term
has changed. It will contain more information about next terms lessons
and will provide a clearer picture of your child’s swimming lessons and
be more informative.

As the pre-school lessons become more popular, the children
entering the mainstream swimming lesson programme are very
young.
It is recognised that children of this age struggle to concentrate for
an entire 30 minute lesson. To ensure the best possible lesson is
offered from January 2015 the Octopus 2 lessons will be shortened
to 20 minutes.
To further help the quality of these lessons the numbers in the class
will be a maximum of 6. This will enable the teachers to get much
more out of each lesson.

Instructor Absence
At Splash Leisure Pool all the teachers are fully committed to the
swimming lesson programme. However, on occasions due to sickness
or holidays, relief cover may be necessary.
Parents are asked to understand that we cannot guarantee the same
teacher every week.

Feel free to book your child on as many as the courses as you would like, places are limited and will be allocate on a first come first served basis. Bookings
for all the above courses will open on Monday 17th November.
Octopus 2 & 3 Intensive Course
This is a course of five sessions that will cover as much of the syllabus as possible. This is a great chance for anyone that almost passed the stage to cover
the areas they found difficult, with the possibility of achieving their badge before Christmas.
These courses cost £15.99 for the week. To give everyone the best chance to get the most out of the course numbers will be limited to six in each course,
this gives the teacher more time to spend with each child.
Focus Courses
These are for Goldfish, Angelfish and Shark levels, they consist of three lessons a week. Each course will focus on one stroke and one specific area of that
stroke. A great opportunity for anyone who is struggling with a particular part of a stroke too concentrate on that one area. If that one stroke or skill was
holding your child back, they may find that with some intense practice they could still achieve a badge for Christmas.
These courses are just £9.99 for the three lessons in the week and numbers are limited to six children for each course. This will make sure that the teacher
has plenty of time to give everyone the attention they need to improve.
Additional Activities
There will be some different sessions too! This will give a chance to try something new. It will give them an idea of other aspects of swimming they may wish
to pursue once they have completed our swimming lesson programme.
Each week there will be a Water Polo course. There will be two sessions a week that will teach and progress skills needed to become a Water Polo player.
Only £6.50 for the course.
