Glossary
Excellent-possessing outstanding quality or superior merit; remarkably good
Good-satisfactory in quality, quantity, or degree
Average-typical; common; ordinary
Fair-lacking exceptional quality or ability
Poor-of an inferior, inadequate, or unsatisfactory kind
Goals - A goal is an abstract and general umbrella statement, under which specific objectives can be
clustered.
Objectives- Objectives are statements that describe—in precise, measurable, and obtainable terms—
defined and desired learner outcomes.
Goals are broad objectives are narrow.
Goals are general intentions; objectives are precise.
Goals are intangible; objectives are tangible.
Goals are abstract; objectives are concrete.
Goals can't be validated as is; objectives can be validated
Examples of Goals and Objectives:
Club members will gain a greater appreciation for the Leadership Ladder-GOAL
One representative from each club will serve on County Council this year-OBJECTIVE
County Council officers will set the example for leadership in our County-GOAL
All County Council officers will participate in 2 officer/leadership training weekends this year-OBJECTIVE
Superior- above the average in excellence, merit, intelligence, etc, of higher grade or quality.
Measureable-capable of being measured.
Realistic-of or relating to the representation of objects, actions, or social conditions as they actually
are. Representing what is real; not abstract or ideal.
Challenging- offering a challenge; testing one's ability, endurance, etc.
Benefits-Something that promotes or enhances well-being; an advantage: Help; aid.
Realized-To make real; to convert from the imaginary or fictitious into the actual; to bring into
concrete existence; to accomplish; as, to realize a scheme or project.
Significant-important; of consequence. Of or pertaining to observations that are unlikely to
occur by chance and that therefore indicate a systematic cause.
Impeccable- Having no flaws; perfect.
