Nativities:
Our youngest children have been entertaining everyone with their
nativity plays. Last Tuesday it was the turn of Nursery and Reception and on
Monday Key Stage One took to the stage. The
children did extremely well and as there were so
many children absent in Key Stage One, the
Reception children stepped in to save the day! I
am sure parents were extremely proud! I would
like to thank all the children, teachers and support
staff who worked so hard to make the nativities a
success.
Christmas Lunch:
On Wednesday the whole
school enjoyed a fabulous Christmas lunch. There
was a wonderful atmosphere in the hall and all the
children looked great in their Christmas outfits!
Thank you to Mrs Copeland and Mrs Townsend for
all their hard work. I would also like to thank all
the lunchtime carers, teachers, TAs, office staff
and our Chair of Governors who helped out to
make it a success.
Christmas Party:
The children really enjoyed the Christmas party. A big
‘thank you’ to all the staff who helped out and Maggie
Schaap-Smith, PTA Chair who also came along to lend
her support.
Foundation Stage Trip to Norden Farm:
The
Turtle Class went to see Kipper’s Snowy Day at Norden
Farm yesterday. Mrs Hopper says that they thoroughly
enjoyed themselves and were really well behaved!
Christingle Service: It was lovely to see those of you who
made the effort to come back for our Christingle Concert last
night. It was disappointing that children who had practiced so
hard on their speaking parts, singing and playing their
instruments didn’t all come back. The children have been
working on this concert for over a month and I am sure the parents who did
attend will agree the children performed wonderfully and it was such a lovely
end to the school term. Thank you to all the teachers and support staff who
have so worked hard to make it a success and who gave up their time in the
evening to come and support the children. Thank you of course to all the
children! A special mention should be made for Jordan who quickly stepped in
to read and Miss McKee for the ‘never to be repeated’ performance!
New School Prefects:
We have chosen another prefect – Congratulations
Leah! All the prefects received their badges last week and will begin duties in
earnest in January.
Lunchtime Sewing Club Next Term: Next term’s sewing club will start
on Wednesday 14th January and run for 10 weeks until 25th March. The fee for
the whole course is £50 which includes all materials. The children will be
making items for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter. If your child is
interested they should come to the office to pick up a booking form.
Online Payments and Communications:
We are really delighted that
so many parents have signed up for online payments and also for
communications from ParentMail PMX. Thank you! If you have not yet signed
up please ensure that you do as soon as possible to ensure that you do not
miss out on vital information. When we are sending out text and emails if you
are not registered you may not get the information as the office and teaching
staff do not have the time to telephone parents individually. Also remember that
we will not be sending out paper copies of letters or newsletters in January.
Copies will be put on the website and if we require you to fill in a form or reply
slip, a hard copy will be sent out to you. However, we do intend to ensure there
are copies on the website, so if your child is missing anything you can get it from
there. There will be a limited number of paper copies of letters and newsletters
in the Reception area.
Payments for After School Clubs:
Please ensure these are made by
January 6th at the latest in order to secure your child’s place in their chosen
club.
New Menu:
Please find attached the Menu for next term. This has also
been put on the school website in the About Us/Key Information Section.
Wycombe Wanderers: Letters for the after school club starting on
Thursday 15th January have been sent home. If your child has not received one,
please download and print a copy from the school website.
Have a fantastic Christmas Break!
See you in 2015!
