Introduction

District and Charter School Participation Form

2013-2014

By participating in the K-3 New Mexico Formative Assessment System, districts and charter schools will be supplied with the online assessment of DIBELS Next,

IDEL, and the Burst Reading Vocabulary assessment measure. Participation includes any assessment kits that are needed at the school, as well as the software to use the assessment. The tool will store and analyze the results and recommend school and home activities based on those results. Districts and charter schools will be responsible for providing their own hardware.

Hardware is not included. For a list of devices that support the software, go to: http://www.wirelessgeneration.com/devices .

The software will: a) Provide individualized assessments with immediate results; b) Store and analyze assessment results, recommend activities that are aligned with the assessment results, and assist in tracking student performance and identifying strategies to improve student performance; c) Provide student grouping recommendations based on the assessment scores and provide proposed lesson plans on a short-term cycle

School level activities required of the K-3 New Mexico Formative Assessment

System include the following:

 Obtain and utilize compatible devices to assess kindergarten, first, second, and/or third graders on mCLASS assessments. Note: The hardware purchase will be the district or charter school responsibility.

 Collection and submission of staff and student roster data to Wireless

Generation.

 Assessment of all kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students using DIBELS Next or IDEL and the Vocabulary measure provided within the Burst Reading Assessments.

Progress monitoring of students. Students well below benchmark will be progress monitored at least once every two weeks and, students below benchmark will be progress monitored at least once every four weeks.

Attendance at regional onsite trainings and webinars.
