We’re authors!

When adventure collides with magic only one side can triumph.

Sixteen students aged ten to fifteen years old from Irthlingborough Junior School and Huxlow

Science College have joined together to write their own novel for children . Reflection of Evil is a fast paced adventure story for boys and girls aged 8 to 12 which took over 13 months to complete.

Totally written and beautifully illustrated by these talented youngsters, who were named the Ink

Links, it is a full length novel which tells the story of twins Amelia and Daniel Hunter and the quest thrust upon them.

Amelia Hunter has been cast into a world filled with magic and mythical creatures. Every 100 years twins of the Hunter family have to lock V ivienne D’Angelo, an evil sorceress, within her own dimension. If Amelia can’t find her brother Daniel and Vivienne’s real name before the two Suns align then both worlds will perish. With Gibble the Amarku and Helix, a long lost relative, will

Amelia be victorious?

Or will time run out?

Reflection of Evil is available for purchase from Huxlow Science College for £6.50 with all profits going to the charities of the students’ choice, NANNA a local animal sanctuary and Marie Curie

Cancer Care. It can be viewed on Huxlow website www.huxlow.northants.sch.uk

Head teachers Mr. Michael Malton and Mrs. Susan Drake are delighted with the wonderful book the Ink Links created

We are very proud of our students who have worked extremely hard on making this book a success. I would also like to thank Liz Drage and Sue Kelby who have co-ordinated the students and helped them in their quest. This will be something the students involved will remember for the rest of their lives. The standard of authorship and teamwork shown by the Ink Links impressed me in equal measure”.

Michael Malton Head teacher Huxlow Science College

This book, written by children for children, is absolutely stunning from start to finish in both its content and imagery. A truly remarkable collaboration and a credit to those young people involved .”

Mrs Susan Drake Head teacher Irthlingborough Junior School

Steve Bowkett, published author of the Double Dare Gang series had this to say

'Reflection of Evil is a marvellous showcase for the talent of the young writers and illustrators in the Ink Links. It is something they can be proud of and will remember forever. If only every school supported a project like this.'

As for the Ink Links, they are thrilled at becoming published authors.

“It was great fun to do and very rewarding. We want everyone to buy it now so we can give a lot to our charities.
