On behalf of my organization, I would like to extend my gratitude for your generosity. I know that the
men and women in the unit will enjoy the items you have sent. We have many sports enthusiasts in the
Troop that will enjoy playing some tennis.
Once again, thank you for including and thinking of us with your gift.
Take care and God bless.
Very Respectfully,
Luke

Thank you for the tennis package you sent to us here in Bagram, Afghanistan!!! I brought the two big
boxes to our Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Director. We have a couple of existing locations
that we can turn into a tennis court using the packages you sent us! That would be the first tennis court at
this location that I know of. I know numerous people that are excited about this idea....and we are all
grateful for your generous gift and support!
Many thanks from the men and women at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan!!!
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for supporting My unit and ALL Soldier's in general. I
received a case of tennis balls a few months back which I donated to the K-9 unit here on Fenty. I have
since received another case of balls and a tennis net which I am donating/giving to the MWR to set up
here for soldier's. I will be leaving in the next few days but I will pass on your information to my
counterpart. Thank you again for all your doing to support the Soldier's
Deployed.
Sincerely
Chris
I wanted to thank you and your staff for having us at the WTT finals event and for allowing the donation
booth to be set up at the entrance to the stadium! All of the family members had a very nice evening
watching tennis! The free tickets were awesome! All of our children loved seeing a professional tennis
tournament for the first time! The donation booth at the entrance was beautiful and seeing the donated
items collected there was truly amazing! We have heard from our husbands and they said that the tennis
equipment that was sent by the USTA is a huge hit in Afghanistan! The care packages are in route now
and we know the soldiers will really enjoy all of the donated items when they arrive. Thank you so very
much for all of your help with the Adopt-a-unit initiative.

Hello, My name is Jacque. My fiance is LCpl …. He is currently deployed in Afghanistan with ….. and
he received a generous package from your organization and Wilson Sporting goods. I would like to thank
you on behalf of the men …and from the bottom of my heart. Random acts of kindness like this keep
morale high and give these guys a reason to keep fighting for our freedom!
Thank you
I just wanted to drop a quick line to say thank you for the care package that me and the members of my
unit received from your organization. It really means a lot to know that we have such supportive
Americans behind us as we accomplish our mission. It is because of folks like you at the Balboa Tennis
Club and the USTA that we never feel alone. Again thanks for these thoughtful gifts and we will all
surely put them to great use.

Greetings from Kandahar!
I want to thank you for the special gift boxes that you and your staff members had sent our Team here in
the Afghanistan Theater of Operations. You were so correct in your attached letter that the "little things in
life" really do make a difference once we have been removed from them as we are here.
I also admire your dedication and efforts to continue to bring the sport of tennis to us. Consistent little
reminders of what we have at home make each deployment a little bit easier to deal with. It also reminds
us of what we are fighting for and have at home, our culture, freedoms and our way of life.
I am proud to know that people like yourself are there backing us up while we are away.
Please give my gracious thanks to those members of your staff once again!
Very Respectfully,
LT Greg
I want to thank you so much for the tennis equipment!! My team and I greatly appreciate it we will be
sharing with the rest of the base!! Thanks so much!!!
With love,
SPC ... and troops!
Maam,
We received both packages today. Thank you so much; our soldiers really appreciate your generosity. We
will be flying an American flag for your organization over Afghanistan during a combat mission in this
upcoming week. Please look for it in the mail in about six weeks.
Thanks again,
Kelly H.
To all concerned,
My name is SFC David M. from the 1-67th Armor Battalion in the Arghandab River Valley
Afghanistan. The MTA chose to sponsor our unit during our 12 month deployment. Let me first tell you
that I was born and raised in Mississippi and will always be a Mississippian at heart. I can’t begin to tell
you how much your support has meant to the men and women of the 1-67th. The tennis equipment was
great and gave a lot people something to do when they actually got some time off for a few hours. The
thing that was most appreciated was the everyday supplies that were sent. You must have had an inside
source as to what we needed because all the things that you sent were items that we can’t get here. We
have no way of buying things here because they just simply aren’t available. Baby wipes, hand sanitizer,
lotion, (It is very dry here) and most importantly, snacks! We have only the same boring food that that the
Army cooks produces each week. Let me just say that there isn’t much variety. It is such a morale boost
for the Soldiers to get things from home that aren’t available here. I would like to personally thank
everyone that gave their time or their money to make this happen. Who knows when I visit my family
after I get back from this deployment I might be able to meet and thank some of you personally. Some
times when Soldiers are on deployment they don’t know if people back home ever think about the
sacrifices that they and their families all make. It’s nice to know that people do still care and put forth the
effort to increase moral and let us know that people haven’t forgotten!
P.S. I would like to thank my sister Nancy P. for informing me that you were looking for a unit to sponsor
and I am glad that we were picked to receive this honor.
Thank You!
SFC David M.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the United States Tennis Association,
Please see attached for a short thank you note from the Soldiers of
Alpha Battery "Steel", 4-25 Field Artillery Regiment. The Soldiers love
to receive mail and your time and donations can make the difference
between a good day and bad. Your partnership with the Adopt a Soldier
Platoon organization has enabled numerous boxes to be delivered to
Soldiers who might not otherwise receive mail. You are truly making a
difference.
Thank you so much for your continued support, it means the world to
these men.

Kristi,
Well I would like to thank you and your group for the support to all soldiers. We have 146 ppl in my
company. There are a lot of soldiers where this is there first time out here and away from home. So I
thank you for the time and effort you put into this for us. This will be very nice for the ones that don't get
anything and also will boost the moral up of the unit getting support from an organization like this from
back home. A good way for them to see they still have ppl that care. Thanks again
