Pharmacy Services in a Level I Trauma Center; responsible for educating the medical team, precepting
pharmacy residents and University of California, San Francisco & University of Pacific pharmacy
students.

Position Summary
The Infectious Diseases (ID) Clinical Pharmacist will play an integral role in antimicrobial stewardship
activities and pharmacotherapy management of infectious diseases. The individual will serve as a key
member of the Infectious Diseases Service, providing clinical support and teaching to physicians and
other health care providers. The ID Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for education and mentorship
to clinical staff pharmacists, PGY1 residents, and pharmacy students. Other responsibilities include
participation and leadership in pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives as well as policy and/or
guideline development and formulary management.
The ID Clinical Pharmacist will provide delivery of pharmaceutical care, daily monitoring of targeted
antimicrobials and appropriate utilization, documentation of interventions, drug information, quality
assurance review of drug utilization throughout the hospital for various medical staff committees and
the department.

Qualifications
Minimum
• PharmD
• Successful completion of a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Residency or equivalent experience in infectious
diseases and antimicrobial stewardship
• Valid State of California Pharmacist license. Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification.
Preferred
• Certification from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties
• Previous experience as a clinical pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting with involvement in
formulary development, medication use evaluation, and quality assurance activities.
