Opel Introduces All-New Zafira Tourer MPV in China
Shanghai – Opel has introduced the all-new Zafira Tourer MPV in China. The
newest member of the brand’s growing local lineup is now available at Opel dealers
nationwide.
The all-new Zafira Tourer has a distinct and stylish exterior, a spacious and
versatile interior, and a powerful engine along with a range of advanced safety
technologies. It is available in two trim levels, the five-seat Comfort and seven-seat
Luxury, at a price of between RMB 269,900 and RMB 309,900.
Modern and Stylish Exterior
The exterior of the Zafira Tourer is defined by its blade-shaped silhouette, upswept
grille and sleek waistline that extends from front to rear. This gives it a dynamic and
progressive look.
The distinctive front-end styling, with its boomerang-shaped headlights and fog
lights, exudes an innovative and sporty impression while showcasing the brand's
DNA. Five exterior colors and two interior colors are being offered.
Spacious and Flexible Interior
The Zafira’s spacious interior has a center console that flows from the IP center
stack. This gives the interior a symmetrical harmony while adding a graceful yet
dynamic ambiance. The interior features high-gloss chrome trim and extensive use
of leather and soft-touch materials.
Premium perforated leather seats with visible handcrafted stitching enhance the
premium interior feeling. Front-row seats are heated and provide six-way
adjustment, two-way electric lumbar support and thigh support. The seats have
been certified by Germany’s Campaign for Healthier Backs.
With a length of 4,656 mm, width of 1,884 mm, height of 1,685 mm and wheelbase
of 2,760 mm, the Zafira Tourer is more spacious than other vehicles in its segment.
An extra-large glass roof adds to the expansive and comfortable feeling. Heatabsorbing UV-cut glass in the glass roof helps to moderate the interior temperature.
The Zafira Tourer’s panoramic windscreen extends all the way to the glass roof in
the middle of the vehicle, giving all occupants a 180-degree exterior view while
creating a bright interior.
Another highlight of the Zafira Tourer interior is a unique Flex7 seating system. The
three second-row seats can be easily converted into two larger, extra-comfortable
seats. This features gives back-seat occupants a feeling of travelling in a “living
room on wheels.” The third row consists of two individual 5:5 flat-folding seats with
multiple storage options with the push of a button.
There are numerous storage areas throughout the vehicle, including a double-deck
storage space under the central armrest and concealed storage compartments in
the front doors, under the front seats and under the trunk floor.
Powerful Performance and Advanced Safety
The Zafira Tourer is equipped with an Ecotec 1.4L turbocharged engine and
second-generation S6 six-speed automatic transmission. The transmission features
smooth gear shifting and maximizes fuel efficiency.
To ensure optimal performance, the model's powertrain and chassis were both
tuned at Germany’s Nürburgring, a sacred place for car enthusiasts as well as for
vehicle testing by automakers from around the world.
Unlike other models in its segment, the Zafira Tourer is equipped with Adaptive
Cruise Control which allows the driver to set a cruising speed while driving at high
speeds and with the accelerator released. The vehicle makes adjustments
automatically at a constant velocity to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
Among the other advanced safety features that come standard are anti-lock brakes
with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control and a traction
control system.
In addition to the Zafira Tourer, Opel offers the Antara, Astra GTC and Insignia
Sports Tourer in China. Its products are sold through Opel’s 22 dealerships and
serviced through its 55 aftersales service centers.
The Zafira Tourer received the Golden Steering Wheel Award, one of the European
industry’s most prestigious honors, from German publications Auto Bild and Bild
am Sonntag.
