Information Leaflet
Do you need regular or occasional child
care?
HOOTs is open Monday to Friday
The aim of this leaflet is to give you a brief introduction
to HOOTs, our after school and breakfast club.
HOOT’s is an after school/breakfast club for Dry Sandford pupils which
will provided quality child care for children aged 4 to 11 years at the end
of the school day. It is a service offered to parents/carers who require
regular or occasional after and before school care. It is hoped that both
children and staff have an enjoyable time at HOOTs. The children will
hopefully enjoy mixing whilst taking part in a choice of activities in a
warm, friendly environment.
A drink, sandwich and fruit snack will be provided after school.
Breakfast is provided before school.
STAFF
There are two members of staff, Mrs. Carol Cottingham and Mrs.
Amanda Akers who have NVQ3 and NVQ2 in Playwork, relevant first aid
qualifications and are CRB checked.
ADULT/CHILD RATIO
There will be a minimum of one adult for every eight children.
FEES for After School
£4.00 per hour or part thereof
£5.00 discount offered for full five days attendance
£5.00 fixed fee for late pick ups
FEES for Breakfast Club
£2.00 per session
Fees are payable monthly, in advance. Please speak to Mrs. Harrington
in confidence, if you are on income support and require a place for your
child.

OPENING HOURS – After School
3.15pm until 5.15pm - Monday to Friday
OPENING HOURS – Breakfast Club
8.10am – 8.40am - Monday to Friday
INSET DAYS
HOOTs is available only if suitable demand is required. Please enquire
early about forthcoming inset days. Requests should be made a
minimum of four weeks in advance of a inset.
APPLYING FOR A PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD
You must complete and registration form and booking form prior to your
child being admitted to After School/Breakfast Club.
BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS
At HOOT’s, we believe that the welfare, safety and protection of the
children are paramount. The staff will not tolerate unacceptable
behaviour such as bullying or bad language and we would expect
parental support in dealing with such cases.
QUESTIONS, CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with either Mrs.
Cottingham or Mrs. Akers. Regarding any complaints, these should be
made directly in writing to the play supervisor, Mrs. Cottingham. This
will be recorded and the outcome of any investigation will be provided.
DIET
Special diets and allergies will be catered for where practical; these
should be entered on the registration form.
