Informational speech rubric

Model informational speech (how to)

In your groups, each person will create a mini how to. Pick something that is well known to most everyone. For example, how to tie your shoe, make a pb&j, brush your teeth, etc.

3.

Read your mini how to aloud in your group, and grade each other using the rubric that was provided.

4.

Share out the best one of the group.

5.

Review rubric for formal informational speech.

6.

Assignment: Bring flash drive for tomorrow!

Begin working on outline. Make sure you have fulfilled the requirements of the rubric and thoroughly addressed the elements of a speech.

Create note cards for speech

Assignment: Finish creating your speech. The outline is not due until Friday, but you should be ready to practice your speech in small groups. This way you can receive feedback prior to the graded presentation.

Thursday, 05/14: Present information such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience (SL.8.4).

Print two copies of your outline. You are to keep one copy, and you will attach the other to the rubric and submit it to me. Make sure you have fulfilled the requirements of the rubric and thoroughly addressed the elements of a speech.

Present to small groups in order to receive feedback.

5.

Assignment: Finish your speech and outline; make changes where necessary.

Presentations begin tomorrow; outline and rubric will be collected at the beginning of class.
