DENVER BRONCOS QUOTES (10/17/13)
CORNERBACK CHAMP BAILEY
On going up against Colts WR Reggie Wayne
“Yeah, I’ve seen Reggie Wayne a lot in my career. It’s going to be a good battle with him and all of our corners. We’ll see how it
pans out, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.”
On if it’s nice going up against Wayne who is closer to his age
“Yeah, we probably have more in common than all these other guys I’m going to be covering this season. I’m sure I’ll call him ‘old
man’ at some point throughout the game (laughing).
On covering Wayne when QB Peyton Manning was with the Colts
“That’s what made it so tough. You’ve got a guy that can run great routes, but then also a quarterback that puts it right on the
money. Yeah, those days back then—I don’t miss it.”
On what makes Colts QB Andrew Luck so dangerous
“He can make all those throws as well, but I think what really makes him so dangerous is he when he pulls it down and can run
for that first down and make guys miss here and there. He’s pretty good about that too.”
On if he is worried about a sense of complacency once the defense is back together and healthy
“No. I’m not worried about it. But we definitely emphasize [staying sharp] because you can’t relax. Just because you get one guy
back it doesn’t mean anything. You’ve just got to keep pressing on and trying to get better as a team.”
On LB Von Miller
“He’s looked good. He looks fresh and ready to go. He’s hungry so I’m anxious to see him play.”
On what having Miller back means for the defense’s strategy
“Not to give away our game plan, but he does give us many more options to do different things on defense. But you know, when
you have a guy that talented you’ve got to find ways to make sure he’s involved with every play. So he’s going to be involved a
lot.”
On if he’s doing anything as precaution for playing on turf in Indianapolis
“No. I’m going to approach it just like last week—just go out there and let it all out. I’m not the type to play cautious. I’d be
better sitting on the sideline if I’m going to do that.”

On how he graded his first game back after his injury
“Not good. I’ll just say—I can’t put a letter on it, but it’s not up to par for me. I’m kind of a perfectionist when it comes to my
game. It’s something I’ve been looking at and making sure I get a little better every week.”
On if it helps when they’re on the road but have some fan support in opponent stadiums
“You definitely feel it. If you’re on the road and you’re up in the fourth quarter, all you hear is your fans. You don’t hear their
fans. That’s a good feeling. I love to see how well our fans travel and things like that, so we really like to hear that if we’re up in
the fourth quarter.”
