-Stick saves, deflecting rebounds (2 stations if needed)
-recovery (down and up for mites, recovery T push for squirts)
-rebound battles, emphasis on freezing pucks
2) November 23
Large Group: same movements in more advanced patters. Free
skating/Crossovers
Tutorial: puck tracking and rebound control techniques
Stations
-catcher
-blocker
-butterfly saves (emphasis on stick position)
-breakaways/ gap control
3) December 7
Large Group: Basic Movements plus butterfly slides
Tutorial: post stance and net play
Stations
-post to post movement, tracking plays behind the net
-saves on the post/angle shots (stand up/ 5 hole snap)
-1/2 V or butterfly reaction saves
4) December 14
Large Group: Free skating/agility drills, butterfly slide review
Tutorial –Angles/patience
Stations:
-Recovery T push to post
-walk outs/step off post, emphasize angles (2 stations)
-high cut across, emphasizing angles and proper shuffles
5) January 4
Large Group: shuffles (emphasize the pulling leg more than the push),
pivots, recovery slide intro
Tutorial –blocking vs. reacting
Stations
-Tips/deflections
-screens (age appropriate shooter with full pads needed)
-back door play, slide to the post
-reaction drill
6) January 18
Large Group: T push and One foot stop drills. Emphasize making snow
fly off the blade. Recovery slide review
Tutorial –rebound priorities: 1) freeze it, 2) clear it, or 3) stop it.
Stations
-read and react drills (drill starts on visual, rather than audio cue)
-off the post, (slide across or come out and set)
-high slot (shuffle or Tpush)
-recovery slide or Tpush drill
7) January 25
Large Group: passing/playing the puck. Basics movements reviewed
Tutorial –attitude and mental toughness. Servant leadership; The team
needs you.
Stations: Reviewing drills/skills based on progress from earlier sessions
PeeWees/ Bantams/14U/12U
Large group: Stance and Goalie movements

on quick pivot/rotation and control(working harder before the push
so the push doesn’t have to be as aggressive)
