Family Information
De-Su Holsteins is located in NE Iowa just a stones throw from Minnesota
and across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin in New Albin, IA. Dean
and Sue Meyer farm with their two sons Darin and Dustin. Over the past
twenty years, De-Su has grown from a typical Midwest tie-stall herd to
milking right at 1100 cows three times a day with a tank production average
over 100 lbs. Darin occasionally adds elite females to his herd.
Another prefix that is popular at ABS and around the world is the CoyneFarms prefix. This cow family has intrigued Darin due to the out-cross sire
stack and high production levels in a free-stall environment. Thus he
decided to purchase Coyne-Farms Mass Jill at the Legends of the Fall Sale
held at Coyne Farms in 2010. Darin started flushing Massey Jill right away
and today she has numerous offspring over 2300 GTPI! ABS has sampled
two sons from Jill – 29HO16636 JETSOM and past ABS Primetime Bull
29HO16792 JUDAH. Maternal brothers to JUDAH would include
1HO10788 Jacey and 11HO11274 AltaJackaman. 200HO3378 Jetset and
200HO3877 Jabir are from the Freddie sister to Massey Jill. Massey Jill
was lost before she was scored but would have been a solid GP cow.
The dam of Ruler was fresh in May 2014 and 3 out of 4 of her test days
were over 100lbs. She is a youthful young cow and is built to last in her free
stall environment. The 3rd dam of Ruler, Ramos Jelly has 7 VG and 5 GP
daughters to date. The sire of Ruler is Pine-Tree AltaOak – who goes back
to the same family as Holstein International Cow Year 2014 Rudolph
Missy. So Judah combines the well-known Coyne Farms, Pine-Tree and
De-Su prefix’s into one exciting bull.
Mating Information
