Parents/guardians must complete application on behalf of players aged under 18, and are
responsible for ensuring that the player understands and complies with these Terms and
Conditions and the Competition Rules.
By submitting your entry you, the player (and your parent or guardian, if you are under 18) have
read, understood and agree to be bound by and comply with, the terms and conditions of the
application, including the Competition Regulations, the Rules of Tennis and the MTF Rules.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
NEXIA CHRISTMAS JUNIOR OPEN 2015
Please read these terms and conditions very carefully before completing the entry form.
1. The Tournament is sanctioned by the M.T.F. and will be conducted under the following rules and
regulations.
2. All matches will be played in accordance with the current International Tennis Federation rules.
Ignorance of the Rules is no defence against penalties.
3. All matches (with the exception of the Under 10 events) will be played on the basis of best out of 3
sets with a tie-break in all sets at 6 all.
4. Players arriving more than 15 minutes late from a scheduled match may be scratched at the
discretion of the Referee or the Organisers, in which case tournament fees will NOT be refunded.
5. Proper tennis outfits and proper tennis shoes must be worn during play.
6. A player may not receive coaching whilst playing. The word "coaching" includes any advice or
instruction verbally or by signals. An offending player may be disqualified.
7. Any player guilty of bad court behaviour or unsportsmanship action may be suspended or
disqualified from the tournament and reported to the M.T.F.
8. No complaints in connection with the Tournament will be entertained unless made in writing and
lodged with the Tournament Referee within 24 hours of the occurrence of the cause of the
complaint. Any such complaint will be considered by the Tournament Organising subcommittee and
its decision shall be final.
9. Matches are played in the morning starting at 8.30 a.m., in the afternoon or under floodlight but all
players must be available to play their matches at any time of the day and be prepared to play 2
matches on any one day.
10. Players may apply to participate in a maximum of 2 singles events and must be prepared to play
more than two matches on the same day. In the case of unfinished matches due to weather or other
unforeseen circumstances, players may be required to continue a match the following morning.
11. Players must be available to play during the entire duration of the tournament. Competitors will not
be permitted to change the scheduled fixtures for any reason whatsoever.
12. Fixtures for the following day's play will be posted on the V.LT.C. notice board. Every effort will be
made to publish the fixtures on the VLTC website (www.vltc.com.mt).
Notwithstanding this, it is the responsibility of all players to find out when they are
scheduled to play each day. (V.LT.C. Tel. No. 2169 6978).
13. If less than 8 players enter for an event, this may not be held. In that case, tournament fees will be
refunded.
14. The Referee and Organisers reserve the right to alter or modify the Programme and Conditions in
any way they deem fit and refuse any entry without stating a reason.
15. The VLTC does not assume any responsibilities in case of accidents, injuries, illness, theft etc.
