Discuss two things that you have learned from the readings we have done in class.
1. I have learned that butter and animal products do not clog your arteries but margarine does.
2. I have learned that allergies can occur if you do not eat peanuts or dairy products for some time.

Describe how gel separates out DNA fragments.
The gel separates the fragments because the DNA is put into holes and the smaller DNA fragments go
through faster than the larger and same-size fragments go the same speed. Therefore, the fragments
basically organizes themselves in length.

Give me a description of Diabetes. What do you know about it?
Diabetes are a result of too much blood glucose (sugar). I know it is when your body makes too little
insulin to regulate your sugar levels. Some people need to take insulin shots as well as regulate their
sugar intake or else they will fall comatose or, in worse but not uncommon cases, die.
Article: The Essence of Our Being
Reaction: This article was interesting. I already knew everything was made out of atoms, but I didn’t
know we were made out of atoms from as far back as the cold war. I knew we were made from the
same things "stars", as in both definitions. Everything has atoms and stars (as in celebrities) are just
people like you or me. They are not special in any scientific way. (It's rather insightful. Perhaps a little
confusing. Then again, it is trying to explain anything and everything that has and will ever exist).
The fact everything is made out of atoms does, in a way, make sense. Most living things are basically
the same thing and start the same way. This tells me I was correct when I said there was no way humans
were better than every other thing because now there's proof: what makes us makes a dog, cat, tree…
everything. We are not special.
